    That drill with a bendy thing, sorry I have no idea what that's called, i've never seen one.

    he said there's more than one tick. So maybe your loudest one isn't from there.

    Correct. You will still be able to hear the valve train, and injectors, but the ticking from the VSV actuating will be muted.

    I have done this to mine, I still have a tick that I assume is coming from the valves or lifters, as well on monday I am having the manifold tsb done.

    Perhaps a before and after video of the noise would be helpful. Not sure of the ticking is the same one I'm hearing or if it's something else.
    Other than that, nice write up.

    I tried to get it on video, but my camera pics up all noises from the engine. Fan, valve train, etc., making it hard to identify the ticking.
