Trying to neutralize ticking sound. I am becoming obsessed with this and need someone to tell me to relax. I just spent half day putting sound damper all over engine bay and adding wheel well reinforcement to block sound.
Im i getting ridiculous with this, and does engine bay look shitty(see pic)
By the way, all damper pads do is redirect noise to under the truck instead of just the driver side.

I plan on blocking the extra openings in the wheel well too but the dampener might have been a little much, I think the noise is echoing through your manifolds so its going to be hard to stop.

Im going to pack the entire engine bay with foam peanuts. that'll stop the noise:)

This ticking thing is really starting to bug me. It is obviously normal because everyone does it. It bothered me for 1 day until I heard another one and it sounded the same. Some engines are louder than others by design, there is a lot of technology in these engines and it makes noise, just don't let it bother you. You are just going to cause yourself more grief trying to mask the sound that everybody's makes. This is ridiculous already! Mine ticks and I love it!

I did it yesterday. During the first attempt I overtightened because there seemed to be more play than i thought was acceptable. I squeezed the outer washer right out. 2nd time i just snugged it up. Was/ am a little weary, but i dont think it can go anywhere as its connected in 2 other places ( a small diameter hose, and electrical plug ). It made a noticable difference with the sound. Thanks:cool:
