I have a 1997 Tacoma. Nice truck but has always had this ticking noise when the truck moves. Is this something to do with the speedometer? Is it an easy fix? Noise comes from somewhere behind the steering whhel inside the cabin.

My '96 ticks/ clicks too, most often in cold weather; doing it only the last few years. Similar threads seem to point to mechanical wear in the speedo/cable. I don't relish the idea of taking the cluster apart though.
