I'm coming off 12+ years of driving, lifting, modding/fabbing and generally beating the piss out of my 98 Jeep Cherokee. Tacoma seems like a glove fit. We can argue which is more capable XJ or Taco in another thread..

Looking for a used 2008-2009 Tacoma with 35-45K miles, long bed Crew Cab, 4.0 4WD

What does a 50-60K mile service tuneup look like? aka what parts should I look at replacing?

    - possibly tires
    - Optima battery
    - grease the zerks (anyone have a diagram of the zerk positions? need to get familiar)
    - tranny filter?
    - tcase & diff fluids

also, any other opinions / suggestions so far? Anything I should pay particular attention to when shopping around? txs

Really?? I did not know that! Learn something new every day.

As to the question, if you like to do off roading, which it sounds like you do, I would look for a short bed and a TRD OR. Any way you go I would look for a TRD for better seats and susp. IMO
