    Hey guys,

Long time lurker (ok, since I got my Tacoma 1.5 years ago); finally joining. Been doing a bunch of research on TW to figure out how to spend my tax return.

I needed new shocks and springs anyway, so figured it was time for a lift. This week I'm picking up an OME 2.5" lift. Got a Pelfrey front bumper (no hoops) on the way (hope it comes quick).

Looking under my truck trying to figure this lift install out, realized I need new LCA bushings (bought whole new mevotech LCAs), need new tie rod ends (inner and outer) and need new inner CV boots (cracked). All those replacement parts on the way from RockAuto this week also. Wanted to do everything that needed doing while it was torn down and to only have to get an alignment once for all of this stuff. Will order a winch soon. Thinking smittybuilt.

Hoping to install all/most of this on Saturday; maybe I'll have to start real early and wrench through the night. Gulp. I've never done anything like this. Hope I'm not in over my head. :fingerscrossed:

Not sure how long you have been wrenching but this rock auto parts won't last. Especially on a lifted rig that hits the dirt.

Toyota is good because of reliability. You start swapping OEM toyota parts with aftermarket Chinese and Mexican parts you will lose all that reliability. I've seen the exact parts you swapped fail within 10k miles.

Once you lose toyota reliability you end up with a bad gas mileage under powered and unreliable vehicle. Reliability is what makes Toyota who they are.

Ouch. The truth hurts sometimes, but good to know. After reading this, I'm thinking I'll send those parts back and stick with OEM. Was trying to avoid the pains of replacing the LCA bushings, cause the process looked rough, but, you're right, I don't want crap in my truck. Thanks for knocking some sense in me. I've been wrenching since never. Best I've done is change my oils.
