timing belt/chain

    header,short rack and pinion, heavy duty shocks, grill guard, flowmaster exhaust,pacesetter header without catalytic converter, one 10 inch xant sub with a mtx amp, off road lights,diamondplate tool box,rhinolined inside cab,ngk plugwires.
    what does my 1996 2.7 liter have a belt or a chain and if so how do i know if i ned to replace ti

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    Its a chain. And a pretty durable one at that. I REALLY doubt you will ever need to replace it.

    yeah. we had a chain on our 98 corolla and it never gave us any problems at all.

    I had a '99 Xtra Cab PreRunner SR5 V6
    IIRC, 4 bangers have a chain while the 6's have a belt.

    Only the 3.4. The 4.0's have a chain.

    True, but this post is in the 1st gen folder so I'm assuming he's asking about a 1st gen Taco rather than a 2nd gen Taco.
