I just bought a 4 cylinder 96 Tacoma and heard somewhere that the timing belt needs to be replaced every so many miles. I was just wondering what that exact number was.

According to my manual, the 4 cylinder engines have timing chains, not belts. So it should be a lifetime part... no replacement necessary unless youre having a particular problem with ur timing.
