Went to Hobby Town USA and bought a 3 oz. can of RC window tint. Buy 2 cans. I made the mistake of thinking one can was enough and ended up running back to get another can. Really easy though.
    1) Take off tail light covers
    2) Sand them a little to rough them up
    3) Clean with soapy water and let that dry
    4) Get in a well ventilated area with little or no wind preferably and do one LIGHT coat to start off
    5) Wait 5 to 10 minutes to let it dry then begin layering on your tint till the desired darkness is achieved.
    6) wait 5-10 minutes between each coat and makes sure you stay within the allowed amount for your state.

On a side note: It can be a bit misleading at first because it looks like nothing is coming out of the can and onto your tails but there is. Remember, less is more and this stuff "runs" easily so maintain a good distance and evenly apply the tint. Before re-installing tails on truck let them dry a good 2-3 hours in SUNLIGHT!!!!!!

    stock, for now
    looks good!!

I saw it once before, and i think im going to do it if I can find 01-04 tails..

Tint the brake and blinker portion, but leave the reverse untouched. Looked SOO awesome.

I added Hella 55 watt reverse lights that I wired into my normal reverse lights so when I shift to reverse, they come on. I only did 3 coats of tint on mine. I have seen them completely blacked out but I don't want to give the cops any reason to pull me over so I kept them just reasonably tinted.

i tinted my tails about a year and a half ago.. everytime i see a cop i turn on my headlights to light up the red. haha. i say leave yours as is.. you did a great job.. also make sure you sand it with like 2000 grit, wax it then clear coat. i did that to mine and made a HUGE difference..it gets rid of the dull look. it has that glossy look now. i used TAMIYA SMOKE
