Ok... I should I put this...

When I took the trucktruck the dealer, the (new) salesman told me that the key (inside the fob) would not work and as I stated a few posts above, that it would cost money to replace the barrel etc, etc. I now realise that when buddy did the demo with the fob key, it did not work because it was not in properly.

I now feel so embarrassed to tell you guys that the key within the fob works just fine (provided it goes in the right way). Thanks to those who persisted in telling me that a 2018 model should not have that isssue.

So gents, my apologies. This is a complete non-issue and I confirm that the key within the fob, when placed the right way, works just fine.

dpippel, that is the way all the 2018's I have seen are also, a laser cut key with a larger head for ease of use, but same code as the fob keys.

for Eetee.. trying to assist and figure out what your issue is from reading your posts, I'm thinking either you don't know that there are keys in your fobs that also work your tailgate, or perhaps the tailgate lock was replaced before you owned it and the lock was not matched to the original key code.

That is a mistake on their website and database. I emailed them about a week ago and they confirmed that their app does, in fact, support customizations on Gen 3 Tacomas.

Edit: I just checked, they have not yet updated their website.

Yep, I can vouch for that from direct experience. Carista works A-OK with the 3rd gen.

I'm confused. Their website doesn't even list the Tacoma at all as a supported vehicle. I'm I looking on the wrong page?

Their website is incorrect. Trust me, I have the device in-hand and it works just fine with my '18.

Can anyone tell me why this is this way, or how to fix it? On my touchscreen display (TRD model), when I'm displaying my homescreen which is set up for 3 panels with the larger panel being nav, the speed limit doesn't display. Then, if I switch to full screen nav, the speed limit shows up and remains in the nav panel when I switch back to home screen?
    Weird quirk I guess...

I pointed that out in my email to them. They told me it was a mistake, and that they would update their website.

Hey, thanks for listing this for us. Very helpful.

Would be nice if Carista allowed us to defeat the automatic switch to 'recirc' whenever I put the A/C on.

    Again, thanks................. Frank

Does anyone know if the 18’ models have the low ATF from factory problem. I just got my truck a little over a week ago and have about 800kms on it now. I haven’t experienced any of the hard shifts or anything which is usually caused by low ATF but I’d like to be sure. I called my dealer and was told to just let it learn and that if it experiences hard shifts when I bring it in for the 8000km service they would do the check then. I think I will probably just check myself but wondering if anyone with an 18 has had low ATF. Thanks in advance and this thread is badass.

For vehicles with the adaptive cruise you can turn it off.
With cruise control off, press and hold the cruise control on-off button for 1.5 seconds. Then set speed as normal

For the keyless entry, when you touch the inside of the door handle, it unlocks the driver door. Is it possible to change it to where all the doors unlock instead of just the driver door.

You don't need Techstream to do this. You can change it via the head unit in the truck.

Anyone get a loud howling noise that seems to come from the driver side door and mirror? Mostly notice it on the freeways, almost sounds like a bad seal but i've taken it to Toyota a couple of times and of course "they dont notice a thing or any howling"
