    @AAChaoshand ,

    Something I would like to add to list, at least for a 2018 which I discovered on my new 2018 Sport.

    If you already have Cruise Control engaged, holding the Cruise Control lever up or down and releasing it when the desired indicated speed is reached, your Taco will start working towards the new speed, even if your speed is actively being reduced by Dynamic Cruise Control ( DCC ). You can see the speed you are changing to by watching the center Set Speed Indicator which is located in the top-right center section of the driver's cluster. I have mine set the compass which also provides the speed limit indicator in the bottom-right.

    I think it may only be a 18 and newer thing because I could not get my 17 to do this.

    My 2nd gen would do this I think (except for overriding the radar of course). My 18 does it too.

    You are correct about placing the FOB up to the push button switch for starting issues. Although it is not a battery issue. The battery only powers the lock/unlock FOB features. The issue with the no start is related to the FOB itself or a module issue. There is a resistor in the FOB that the PCM and/or other modules confirm to allow the vehicle to start. Other FOBs or remotes on the same key chain can sometimes interfere with the signal.

    Dropping/removing your spare tire on a New Tacoma!!! El Simpolo, eh?

    I am rustproofing the undercarriage and have got to drop the spare tire on my 2018 SR to squirt Fluid Film up yonder. Looked in the Owner's Manual (page 599 of 696 pages)--yeah--plunge in and turn the "hooked" crank thing "lefty-loosey" in the hole under the bed.

    Did same. WON'T BUDGE an inch. I'm 250 lbs, 6' 1" and worked on farms, timbered, and in steel mills during my 75 years on God's green earth, so I have a good grip on things. BUT--I'm smart enough to know--if stuff don't budge, back off and take 'er easy or things go BUSTED pretty durn quick.

    So I call TOYOTA.usa and my Dealership's Service Mgr.--which both chime in: "Gee, we've never been asked that question before. Mebbe watch a few You Tubes and get some ideas..." :annoyed:

    Sooo, I watch some You Tubes on "Dropping a Tacoma Spare Tire." Yep--did same and here's the deal from Georgia Tacoma Dealer:

    "At Factory--Toyota places a stout back polymer "collar" on the spare tire winch spool/cone down there, which needs a REAL BIG MANLY CCW turn to crack it off underneath there and allow the rod to turn CCW. It keeps stuff in order until you, the new owner get the unit."

    OK! Heave Ho! "Pop! goes the plastic collar" and the tire, she is lowering. at least it's a full-sized! Spraying that Fluid Film up there likes there's no tomorrow!

    Gee, whodathunk? I've been changing tires for 55 years, and this one really had me stumped. Senior moment?

    Another "tip" I learned from my Honda 4 x 4 CRV 4 banger: about every 4th or 5th gas fill up, use the middle grade octane gas grade at the pumps, 90 oct or better. Even just putting in like 5 gallons helps. At least with the Honda 4 cyl. it somehow "boosts" mileage! I just hit 35 mpg with this trick in the CRV and hope to employ it on my new 2018 Tacoma 4 cyl.

    BTW, driving home 80+ miles from the Dealership with my new 2018 SR, I logged on 30 mpg AND that was going up some pretty hellacious hills (yes, Ohio does have some!) AND with my A/C going full bore in 98*F heat. Not bad for the first 90 miles--she sipped less than 3 gallons! AWE-SUM. My F-150 and Silverado--no can do--evah!

    SWEET!

    That's not really how octane works, but if it works for you, I guess do it.

    With push button start, pressing the ignition switch twice without the brake engage will allow for power window/back glass/sunroof control...
