You can try the patch, it's nicotine just the same. Once you put the patch on and get your fix, you'll be less dangerous. lol:D

I did it for about 3 years when I was 20-23 (24 now) and I started getting terrible stomach spasms. The more I read the more the link showed up. I had a couple really bad scares that I ended up at Dr.'s/hospitals and I started thinking "as great as the buzz is, this shit is NOT worth it". Then our daughter was born. Honestly, that put everything in perspective. I let a can run out. Went to turn into the gas station, but MADE myself pass right by. Chew gum if you need it. But that stuff WILL kill you eventually if you let it, do all you can to quit ASAP.

    well said man!! ^

You have to remember that its all in your head bud...you don't need the shit! You learned the habit and you can un-learn it too!!! It just takes time bud...be strong and get another oral fixation like gum, jolly ranchers, beef jerky and sun flower seeds...all this is helping me! I won't give in and to be honest it is getting easier day by day...I woke up this morning and didnt even think about it :woot: I wish you luck brother! Don't give in!!!

I smoked, diped, and chewed for years and finally got tired of chewing (red man)and just quit one day and a couple of years later finally quit copenhagen it was tough but it was giving me heartburn all the time. still smoke but in the process of trying to quit
because my three little girls keep asking me why do I smoke and I have no answer for them. so I try to stay focused on them so I won't think about smoking or anyrhing else.

If it helps try to focus on something else to keep your mind off of it.
    good luck

I don't have any experience in this, but I think what another poster said about having something to chew on, such as sunflower seeds, really helps. Cold turkey is definitely the most effective way, but I also think weening yourself off of it could work if the withdrawals are really bad. Good luck man!
