The problem is, of course, in the winter it is not possible to use my own garden hose with, or without a sprayer to clean underneath the car. Where I live I have to shut off the outside faucet in the winter, plus I would not want to get down on the ground in the freezing temps either. The solution is simple. I go to the local spray yourself wash and use that sprayer on the undercarriage. Yes, its 5 bucks (maybe 6 this year), but in my estimation worth the money

I have used that one for a few years now. It makes quick work of rinsing the undercarriage, but the caster(?) wheels are awkward to maneuver. It's a lot easier to roll it forward and back, than to try shifting it side-to-side, so you almost have to use it like a carpet vacuum where you go forward, then pull backwards into the next "lane" and then go forward, repeat.

For anyone who can't afford a pressure washer, it's not that hard to roll under the truck with a garden hose sprayer and get the same end result. This method actually gets more GPM of water which should rinse better than a pressure washer which injects a lot of air into the stream.

Just curious - don't car wash places have to recycle the water ? So wouldn't there be road salt in the water ? Thanks for any thoughts or reply.
