Drive my truck yesterday and no air pressure idiot light; today my wife and I were on the rode and it came on. I stopped at a gas station and had to pay 75 cents for fricken air. The tire air pressure gauge did not work and I had mine in another car. I went ahead and put some air in the tires and figured I'd check pressure when I returned home. After putting the air in the tires the idiot light remained on. When I got home I checked tire pressure and it was fine.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Yep, check the spare. Also, alot of times all it takes is a temperature change to set the dam thing off. Did it just get colder where you are?

Good point. I didn't think to check the spare. It's continuing to rain like crazy so I'll have to wait until it stops but I hope that turns out to be the issue.

    Thanks.

And unless you have already done it, you will have to completely remove the spare to get at the valve stem. I flipped it over before putting it back so I can check it without dropping it down next time.

    That doesn't make any sense.

Did you get a spare or not??

If you did not you need to go back and get one. I promise you that they charged you for one.

A tank of fuel won't even begin to pay the price of a wheel and tire.

I find it amusing that you call it an idiot light yet post a question to ask for suggestions.:help:

If the spare air pressure is correct and the light doesn't reset, likely a bad sensor. Have any tires changed recently?

If one of the sensors is bad, theoretically the light should blink rather than remain on.

Could be possible, thankfully my '05 don't have the dreaded system - therefore no info to reference in my owners manual either. I would assume however that the OP can find the info they require in their own manual.

You also have to reset the light after you put air in, the button is below the steering column.

Was this "LOW TIRE PRESSURE" idiot light an Obombo mandate?

He did say on national TV: This is from memory

"IF YOU JUST KEEP YOUR TIRES INLFLATED YOU CAN SAVE AS MUCH GAS AS THE OIL WE CAN PUMP OUT OF THE GROUND".

Then Toyota puts idiot lights on their 2008 vehicles.

    Just sayin....

I think they started coming on the 06 model year. I know mine has them.

I've heard of people removing them all, sticking them in a short piece of PVC pipe with a valve, and filling the pipe full of air pressure. Keep the pipe in your bed, and the sensor light stays off.

I, for one, like the sensor light. Sure, once when the weather turned really cold the light came on from the spare tire but it took only 5 minutes with the cheap 12-Volt air compressor I have to turn it off. However, the other time the light came on I got out and checked and, sure enough, I had a roofing nail in my right front tire.
