    yeah, I'll probably be going home via lake Tahoe, that road is awesome and I hope I get some good shots of the lake from near the summit.

    I called around, Pep Boys has the best deal, ~$40 and if I don't use them I can return them for a 20% restocking fee, so I'd only be out $8 for the weekend.

    If the weather is bad I would recommend just staying on 80 and getting over, unless you have all the time in the world. Going around tahoe and down 50 is a little more difficult in bad weather.

    Electric Dynolock tailgate, TrailGear Slides, , 285/75-16 Yoko Geolanders on Wheelers Type B, SAW 2.0 front and back, Camburg b/j UCA, 1.5" AAL, Ubolt flip, ARB bump.
    I've been driving both those stretches for 15 years. Get chains or cables, chains are better but either will increse your traction up from 0.

    More importantly, put some weight in the back of your bed: haybale or sandbags. Put them directly over the axle, between the wheelwells (not infront of or behind).

    And as the other said, if you just want to get here, 80 will be much faster.
