No, I missed it. Dang, sorry for the false alarm... I was looking at the one above it in C. Sorry. Well, the search continues.

No worries. i have been watching this thread because I have been looking for an agressive looking load C AT/MT hybrid as well, but I am looking to stay OEM at 265/70/16. Was hoping to get some ideas though from this thread on good hybrid load C tires.

it is depressing how little choices there are out there for load C in OEM TRDOR size. I really don't want to size up because my speedo and mpg computer will be off, but it is looking like I will have to in order to get the load C AT I want.

The Goodyear Duratrac is currently my number one to step up to if I have to, but I am hoping something comes out in load C I like in the OEM size.

My Goodyear Adventure with Kevlar have been awesome in ALL conditions I have run them through (street, wet street, snow, desert rocks) but have performed very poor in the mud. I had to turn around on a trail I encountered this past weekend in the desert mountains when I encountered a combo of deeper snow/mud on the trail (was sliding all over the place). The clay type mud of the desert I was in filled up the lugs like a paste and would not release. Very poor self cleaning it was like offroading in slicks or drift tires. I don't want to have to turn around again because of these conditions so looks like at this point the Duratrac is my go to until I find something else. And as of now I will have to step up to 265/75/16.

Nokian Rotiiva AT has a small cult following here on the northern fringe of Red Sox Nation that is as fervent but nowhere near as numerous as the KO2 bros. They'll come in P-metric and LT in your size. I find they really stand out in slippery, hard-packed situations. Think wet rocks and smooth wet dirt. They bite well. Also, decent mannered on the pavement and have the severe service emblem for winter use if that's your thing. Probably not the best for the desert or swamp crawling.

As an FYI, if you size up to the 265/75/16 your speedometer will actually be dead on from what I hear. And, so far it is looking like the Duratrac for me too unless I go Grabber X3.

Really? My speed and MPG trip computer will be more accurate if I size up? That is very interesting to me. Looks like I need to check my speedo versus GPS. Is this a known situation that I just have missed here on TW?

Yes I forgot the Grabber X3 that is on my list as well, along with the Cooper AT3 but like you I don't think the Cooper AT3 is aggressive enough.

Lots of folks on TW are saying this. One guy checked it with his GPS and said he was off by a couple from the factory and then when he sized up he was dead on. Also, I know the Cooper is a popular tire but I had balance issues with it on my second gen and I want a better looking sidewall and a more aggressive tire. Maybe my experience was a fluke because I know they make good tires but I want a bit more bite this time around.

Wow....that is crazy. I will have to check on my way home today. Thanks for the info.

By the way in case anyone is wondering, since it was hard to find I had to contact Goodyear directly, if you are comparing weights of tires the stock weight of the OEM TRD OR tires the Goodyear Adventure with Kevlar in 265/70/16 is 42.05lbs (at least that is Goodyears published weight). I have been using that as my baseline to compare tire weights.

Thank you, this is very helpful. The Grabber X3 in C is a shade over 49 and the E is over 62. Huge difference. The Toyo Open Country R/T in E is listed as 53 and some forums have people talking about it being soft so this may not be as bad as I thought.

    Not a problem.

I just got off the phone with Goodyear. They are telling me the Goodyear Duratrac in LT265/75/16 load C is 43.38 lbs. Almost the same as stock OEM Goodyear with Kevlar! Pretty good!! The Duratrac is a solid #1 for me at this point.

It's funny - it started out first for me and I have spent tons of time only to likely wind back up where I started.

I just bought a used set of wheels with Duratracs in 265/75/16 load C (claimed 16k miles use) and I decided to weigh that wheel compared to the stock wheel/tire and they were close in weight. The truck feels slower to me though. Maybe because they are louder than stock (noticeable not obscenely loud). They feel a little more cushion which makes sense being taller.

I gotta say they look great though.

Yes. I am finding the same thing. The Duratracs are pretty much checking all the boxes for me at this point. Weight. Hybrid AT and Mud tread. Load C 6 ply. Side wall shoulder lugs for traction. Aggressive looks.

Checked my speed on the truck dash with my gps last night. Actually my GPS speed was matching the digital readout speed on the truck dash perfectly step for step. The actual physical speedometer on my dash with the needle was reading almost 1 mph higher when my GPS was reading 65 mph. So basically it was right on also. I have another GPS unit I will use to check speed but as of right now my OEM sized tires seem to have my speedo matching my GPS as good as you can get. Still not sure I want to upsize and throw everything out of alignment will have to think on that further.

That is good news but different than what a lot of guys on here are saying with the stock tires. Many are saying the 265/75/16 puts the speedometer dead on but I have not personally checked it. Either way I think the difference will be minimal and I like the look of the slightly bigger tire.

Yeah, I agree that the Duratrac seems to be checking off all the boxes. My only concern is that there are a lot of reports about excessive noise. In fact, the reports seem to be all over the place with some saying they are quiet tires and others saying as they wear they get excessively loud. This has been a journey so far but I have plenty of time because my truck only has 1500 miles on it but I want to be able to sell my tires while thye are still like new so long as I can find what I want.

Theres also general grabber at'2's no matter the tire if it aggressive will cause tire noise somthings you will have to trade off for what your looking for.

I agree the one size up from OEM does look better and gives you that 1/2" of extra clearance. I am still thinking on it.

I agree the reports of excess noise about the Duratracs gives me pause as well, but ultimately in the end if I size up that won't stop me from getting them. In fact I would have already purchased them but my OEM Goodyear Wranglers with Kevlar have been surprisingly good (except for really muddy trails as I posted on above). I will keep running my OEM tires untill they blow a flat, then I will use that excuse to upgrade them at that point, otherwise I can't justify it at this point.

Would love to see the Falken Wildpeaks come out in a load C 265/75/16 tires but looks like that won't happen anytime soon.

Here is a picture of what I am talking about with the OEM Wrangler Kevlars not doing a good job self cleaning in the mud. Although I am not sure anything would clean this stickly clay type mud paste I was driving through on this trail last weekend. You can see by looking at my rear tire its like driving on slicks. I need something that does a better job self cleaning than that.
