What tire pressure do you guys run in your tires? I would like to sacrifice a little ride quality for better gas mileage. Im running 36psi front and 32 rear right now, what do you all think?:D

If you want the MPGs...prolly a good call. The chalk line method is the best way to find the ideal pressure...then you can adjust from there for towing/wheeling/mpgs/ride.

Draw a line across the tire with chalk and then drive a short way (100 yards max) see where the line is worn. Edges warn with chalk left in the middle is under inflated, middle worn with outsides chalked is over inflated...and even chalk wear across the tire is "perfect"...Adjust from that point.

I just use what the door says, 33 rear, 30 front. Mileage and ride seem decent to me :)

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
I run LT Dueler AT Revos and have them at 42psi front and 40psi rear.

I am running stock Dunlop AT's at 40 and find both ride and handling to be superior to recommended specs. Thank you Brunes for the chalk method...I had forgotten that one. I will check my current set up with it and see what it says.

Of course handling is superior at a higher pressure. Higher pressure reinforces the sidewalls and makes the tire bow out in the center. This means that the tire is less likely to roll over onto the sidewall during cornering. However, the trade off is reduced braking efficiency due to a much smaller contact patch (dangerous) and greatly increased tire wear (expensive, likely cancels out any money saved in mileage.)

^They'll find out once they do the chalk method that they are grossly overinflated. A lot of this is dependent on what tire you're using, too.

I ran my last 2-3 sets at 40 psi. My door says 29psi fwiw. I havent seen any of them wear unevenly, but they are all load range "c" and usually 6 ply under the tread, i think 2 or 4 ply sides. Winter i go down to 30psi-32psi or so , not worth the fuel economy in the winter when snow traction is preffered. I usually get new tires because after 4-5 years or so they get punctures from gravel roads /road hazzards.

If you want "cant go wrong" ,the chalk test is good or the door sticker, just remember the tires go to 50psi for a reason, load handling when loaded or towing.

Note that the door sticker only applies for the stock equipment or OEM replacements (like if you bought it with Rugged Fails or Duelers...you need to buy those again). If you get other tires or change sizes that sticker is worthless.

yea, its not perfect but not worthless either, but still noteworthy, be it oem or replacements. My dunlops were the ones at 29 psi /door.

I was thinking of goofing with some fishing line, check the length of the tread ( front to rear) ,the tread patch, for contact at different psi,and doing a chalk test for even contact. I bought some snow/at tires early and want to see what a reasonable psi is gonna be. For now theyre at 32 psi and i been biking more .

Have you tried resetting the tpms with the button under the steering wheel ? If you haven't the owners manual has a section on it. Doesnt sound good though.
