It's that time I need new tires. Looking for feedback on the new bfgoodrich rugged terrain. Nitto Terra grappler or wrangler authority. Going 265 70 r17 on trd sport. Mainly road driven (highway) 75% of the time with some minor field or easy trail driving . Thanks

For your stated use any of the 3 should work but I would choose the Goodyear.

If I were buying for myself I would buy Michelin M/S 2 and not look back.

My friend had the nittos on his duramax, they did good for being on a chipped duramax. He could spin they easy when it was wet and he went threw some mud. Ive looked at the goodyear authority and everyone ive talked to likes them, a couple have said they wear out kind of quick.

Just worry the wrangler is too rough for as much highway as I drive. Goodrich have mixed reviews and can't find much on the grapplers

What kind of terrain and ratio of it are we talking about?

Just new tires with a non stock look. Mostly highway with rare field or light trail

Have you thought of Cooper discoverer at3 or atps. I have at3s, they do pretty good on the street and some mud every now and then. Ive searched a lot of tires lately to replace my at3s when they wear out but im looking for the lightest and most aggressive tire since I have a 2.7 and fuel economy means a lot to me. Nittos are pretty expensive and the authoritys supposedly wear out quick. Ive only really looked into the authority, but besides wear everyone who has them likes them.

+1 for Cooper ATP's Wrangler authority close 2nd they are both proprietary [Discount and Wall-Mart] and I much prefer Discount's service.

Michelin MS2 are great for mostly highway driving. Seems it fits what you do.

Don't have much experience with the other tires, but I love my Nittos. They do great on the highway, snow, and I have done some light off roading . They are a touch louder than the rugged trails but that is to be expected from a more aggressive tread, they do have a fairly hard compound rubber so you will be able no get many miles out of them. I would definitely buy another set of these tires and not blink.

Michelin ms2's are the best road tire on the market, look no farther if that is what you are looking for. I run Cooper ATP's on my 4x4 tacoma, I am pretty happy with them. I just needed something a little more aggressive so I went with the Coopers. They are pretty light even in 265/75/16 compared to the rugged trails at 265/70/16, I think just 2 lbs more a tire. Be very careful when buying tires, look at how much they weigh, it is important to keep your mpg's good.

Goto tirerack.com and type in your tire size and look at reviews. You can look at specs and tire weight, it is a great site. The only bummer is they don't sell coopers so you can't look at reviews for the ATP's or the AT3's, but they are both very highly reviewed on other sites.

I know the BFG rugged terrains get good reviews also on tirerack.

just put a set of 265/76/16 cooper AT3's on my pro, they are only p rated, the ride is awesome, and very quiet.. when i put the bfg ko's in my truck at tire shop, the rim and cooper tire did not weigh much more, than the bfg ko without rim, ko's are very heavy.. im very happy with them,

Michelin LTX MS2 or LTX AT2,I have the AT2 on my truck and they roll better than all the All Season tires out there and have a slightly more aggressive look than the MS2. My truck rolls and handles like a Cadillac with these compared to other brands Ive had. Do yourself a favor and stick with the OEM size P metric for better performance and MPGs.

I have the Michelin's mx2s and love them they ride great low noise. They do good in the snow not so much in the mud or clay but like you 75-80% hard surface road use.

    Some stuff...
I was gonna suggest Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx but might be a bit overkill. I totally love mine both on and off road with the exception of the added weight and slight loss in MPG.

265/75/16 Cooper AT3's on mine. No complaints at all. Purchased from treaddepot.com. Good value and low weight for the size.
