Help me decide.... I have a 2.7 L 4 cylinder with 2.5" OME Lift coming.

    Should I :

    A) keep the 32x11.50 KM2 I have (just bought new, never used or mounted)
    B) pay $200 more for 33x10 (buy new)
    C) pay $200 more for 32x10.5 (buy new)

32s. $200 aint worth the half inch more ground clearance. i think the wider tire looks better anyways. plus the 4 banger can turn them over slightly easier.

I'm worried the wider tire will bog down the 4 cylinder. I like the look of the slightly skinnier tire... It's marginal I know, but I came across a good deal on these 32x11.5 on craigslist, figure I could sell for a little more than what I paid and use it towards what I "think" I would like better...

I am hoping other's experience with the different sizes might give some $0.02. Plus, I haven't done a poll before... figured it was a good opportunity.

Well.... I did my research. the 33x10.5 are only 1 lb heavier than the 32x11.5.... go figure. Maybe surface area and the friction would slow it down...

The 32x10.5 are about 2lbs heavier than the 32x11.5... Thats odd...

The larger diameter will have a greater affect than the extra width in regards to accelerating and braking. The pizza cutters will "roll" with slightly less effort though.

Definitely. The "stop" probably should be more important than the "go" I guess. I know it's a turtle but I am trying to avoid being a slug if I can.

Just an FYI I ordered a set of KM2's over a month ago and still waiting on them to be delivered to the shop I orders them from . According to their tire supplier BFG has alot of these tires on National Back order

a few pounds per tire won't make any difference at all to the motor. Girlfriend weighs more than that and you don't tell her she may be a factor in motor performance.

A wider print will simply be a question of how much more they rub and this is determined by the wheel backspacing. Skinnier tire may track better down the road.

The overall diameter is what you need to be concerned with for gearing. either set of 32's will pretty much feel the same. The 33's will have a noticeable difference in the gas pedal.

Haha. Yea, I am sure if I lost about 50lbs it would improve performance and reduce "taco lean".

If I would not have found these 11.50's for such a great deal, I would have definitely gone with a 10 wide. Mostly because of how light the truck is. I would think the tires would dig in a little better with less surface area. And because of the 4 cylinder, I would have stuck with the the 32" probably.

Just wondering how much a difference anyone has experienced between the sizes... Particularly with a 4 cylinder.

    I appreciate the feedback.

1" more wheel/less sidewall and 1" wider. Metric tires have in between sizes that you can't get on a 15" wheel. I'd like a little more poke without having to go to a 1250. I'm trying to talk my wife into a set of 285/75-16 on her Lexus gx. But she's not having that. So now I'm trying to find some 265/75 or 265/70-16.

Not really. I bought the truck used with a set of 325/60-15 BFG AT mounted on some 15x12 Mickey Thompson Classic II. So they were wide and light. Since that set was nearly spent I special ordered some of the last of the 325/60-15 BFG KM. It would nearly walk on water with those on and handled like a go cart on the pavement. But they always kept the truck filthy and would grab any groove worn in the pavement. This kept you alert, but when you didn't catch it fast, it'd put you onto the shoulder or in the other lane. I went to the 33/1050-15 before the others were due because of the lane shifting. The tall skinnies compared to the short fatties on the street isn't fair. But the short fatties handled tons better. The tall skinnies are like driving a boat compared to the others. Off the road, they both rub about the same under articulation. The skinnies will dig down where as the fatties kind of floated. On sandbars the fatties are better. It all depends on what you want to do. But a little extra sidewall never hurt anyone. As a matter of fact, I've found a set of used BFG KM2 already mounted on a set of 15x8 wagon wheels for $300. I'm thinking of getting them and seeing just how bad they might be on the steelies. I still have the aluminum Mickeys behind my shed that I could put them on and if they don't suit me I'll just sell them off.

Good to know. Maybe these 32x11.50 will be the right combination... Once I get the lift and these tires on, I will post a review. I will need to ride on the old tires first just to see how the lift changes the ride then add the new tires and review.
