I'm looking at putting on a 3" lift and adding 33" tires, but I don't want to buy new rims, and I don't want the 33"s sticking out past my fenders.... those online tire calculators are just to confusing to me.......

I currently have stock P265/70R16 (30") so what would I need to make them 33" and not change the width of the tire????

33's wont fit on stock wheels. Plus if you do run 33's on after market wheels they will stick out due to the fact that they need to clear the UCA. Either that or run a wheel spacer. Never the less, the biggest I believe you can run on your wheels are 265/70 or something in that variation. Stock wheels are only 7" wide. To run a 33" tire you need at least an 8" wheel...

Tacoma - Flowmaster cat-back exhaust, volant cold air intake, 3" lift with AAL, 285/75 r 16 pro comp xterrains, 1" differential drop, spare tire mod, hypertech in-line speedometer calibrator, debadged
If you want to keep the stock rims, you could go wth 255 85 r16... those are 33.1" tall, and are not too wide for stock rims. There's a smaller selection of tires in that size, but they are usually cheaper than 285 75 r16. Check out tirepackage.com

Look at the BFG All Terrain T/A KO 285/75/R16 they run about $197 at Sam's Club. They will fit your factory rim. They are 32.8" tall and will fit a 7.0-9.0 width rim. I just went and priced them yesterday and saw them being put on a tacoma while I was there. However I didn't hang around to watch them put them back on the truck.

Not speaking from experience, but I was warned that running that size tire on to narrow of a wheel would cause flex in the tire wall. Making them unstable for handling normal road conditions. Not sure how true, but I would be cautious, some retailers will sell you anything, then again some will tell you anything for a sale. Plus if you dont have a lift, be prepared to trim away, thats from experience w/lift.

On my chevelle I ran some 12.5 wide tires on a rim that was 10 wide. Not the same seeing as how the truck has more side wall so in all fairness that is entirely possible. Maybe there could be someone more knowledgeable that could chime in. I competely agree about the dealers selling anything, wish I would have stuck around to see how it looked and get them to make turns, to see if it would rub. Also true that if you are going to do some wheeling then maybe you don't want a tire that just barley fits the rim, atleast without a bead lock. Good point thanks for watching out.

you should of hung around. they probably will fit the stock wheel. but that doesnt mean they wont rub once you put em on your truck. backspacing on stock wheels is like 5.25 so im pretty sure those will rub.

I was with my girlfriend and she had made some previous arrangements. Damn the bad luck.

Sam's Club won't mount a tire bigger than stock onto a truck. They'll mount them on wheels alone, but not onto the vehicle.

They were doing it in Lafayette. The truck was on the lift.
