    Hi guys and gals,

    I'm new here. I'm a girl :) I have a 2012 Toyota Tacoma, double cab, short bed.
I have a few of questions.

My tires are starting to run bald due to a tire alignment issue. Been searching around on Craigslist for tires. I'm currently running stock 265/70/16, and for the beefier look, I'm looking at a cool looking set but it's 265/75/16. Are these compatible with the stock rims and would it rub at all? Would you recommend switching just for the look or should I just stick with stock?
When I take it to a mechanic for the changeover, will they be able to change it without any issues of it not being stock? Liability issues? I don't mind sticking with the stock but just checking if it's doable.

Also, which mechanic would you recommend taking care of my baby? I do need to get that alignment done. We have been having some issues with our old garage because the owner died and now the mechanics there suck and take advantage of you. And in the last year, we have gone to either the dealer, which has been ripping us off, or Midas, which really aren't reliable. Would love to get someone who cares and knows their vehicles. I live in the Valley but don't mind driving into Anchorage for a good mechanic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and looking forward to discussing more.
I uploaded a pic of my Taco, it's not a current pic, but hope to get another one up soon and hope to get more mods too. It's so addicting! Money sucks though! Haha! Cheers.

If you ever come back, try posting in the AK BS Thread, we hardly ever see these other threads in the AK section until its way too late.

265/75/16 would work just fine; you may have to remove the tiny front flap that attaches to the front of the fender liner_ Just 2 10mm screws and it comes right off; that tends to rub when reversing. As for alignment I would recommend American Tire in Anchorage; they are reasonable. Diversified Tires out here in the Wasilla; they don't install any tires that you don't buy from them at least thats what I was told last time I went to them.

I'm a mechanic myself and do work for reasonable prices; so if your looking for anything done let me know; only thing I can't do is install tires and alignments lol just don't have the machine for it. Sometimes I do stuff for free if its easy; Just recently a friends truck had a failed fuel pump on a F150; shop wanted over $580, I did it for $200 and within 3 hours of work.

Sorry it's been awhile since I've logged on.

NickofTime, lol! Now I know to go to the BS Thread!

SnowroxKT, I'll remember that next time, thanks.

httuner, thank you for the response, this helps a lot. I have yet to get a set of 265/75/16s, still on the wishlist though. I think I will take you up on your offer if I have any mechanic jobs for you. Gotta talk to the hubby first, but shouldn't be a problem.
Do you have any experience installing a Yakima Roof Rack System? It'll be a Yakima Raingutter system for my shell. Would love to finally get this on my truck for the Summer. It's been sitting in the garage along with my SkyBox for a year now :/ I would rather have a professional or someone experienced in these things to drill the holes in my cab, since it's permanent. Wouldn't mind paying you instead of a shop. Let me know.

    Thanks again, guys.

I can take a look at it to make sure all the hardware is there; just installed one on my dad's tundra leer cap not too long ago; I'll PM you
