I had some toyo proxes on my eagle talon and they were good in the rain, bad in the snow and they wore out in less than a year on an all wheel drive car, mind you the asphault is hard on tires where I live. Just a thought.

If anyone is wondering about the Nokian Vativa M/T, they are very loud tires, good in the snow, good in the sand and mud. I've put about 50K on mine and they're worn down to about 20% tread. So now they're excellent on the beach when they're aired down to 20psi, almost flat in the middle with a chunky outside.

A street legal, DOT approved version is almost on the market. :)

There is even a test of them in the latest issue of Peterson's 4-wheel & offroad. I'll be getting a set of 'em for sure.

I still would only use them offroad, there wet weather traction on street would be horrible, but excellent in the sand. I first saw these on the Ivan Stewart driven 2010 4runner, he placed second in the 2009 SCORE Baja 1000 missed winning by 8 min.

meh, i'm not discouraged by the lack of siping. If lack of wet/ice traction becomes apparent after i get them, I can always take them to my local Les Schwab and have them siped for $10 a piece, or just take a razor to them myself.

Any comments on this tire? Seems like good one with aggressive tread. It comes in a 265/75 16 LR C<D and E, and other sizes too. I understnad that it also has the 'snowflake' severe duty emblem on it.
Thanks for the input. Also, great list of tire choices,,,

This one looks cool. It looks like a more aggressive Toyo AT.
