Check the inside of your driver door seam. There is a sticker there telling you

What I would like to do is put some beefier tires on it. I have 265 on it now. I’m not sure if I want to do any modifications like a lift or not.

    265 what? 265/70/16, 265/75/16, 265/65/17, 265/70/17, or something else.

My truck came from the factory with 265/70/16's as an optional size. 245/75/16 was the base size at the time. 265/70/16's are the same overall diameter, but about 1/2" wider. I upsized to 265/75/16. Those are about 1" taller than what came on mine, but are the same width. That is generally as big as you can go without modifying the truck.

If your truck came with 17" wheels then 265/70/17 is about as big as you can go without modifying the truck. 265/70/17's are virtually the same overall dimensions as my 265/75/16's. They just have a bigger hole in the middle.
