"TJota" - 2003, DC Build

Hi guys, I sold my old '04 Prerunner to buy a new '03 Tacoma DC 4x4.
So for my first post, Here is she, stock as I bought it, 115k Miles, TRD, 4x4, Limited.



The first thing I did last week was to install a Magnaflow I was going to use on my old Taco. Here is the muffler swap for the

$130 Magnaflow 11255 : 2.25"/2.25" Inlet/Outlet, 4x9x18" Oval, Stainless Steel, Satin Finish

Magnaflow 11255. Honestly, I'm not in love with the sound. It's a little bit too loud for what I had in mind. I kept the old muffler and will wait for it to break in and decide in a couple of months. I can upload a video of the sound if anyone is curious.




The Truck is sitting at the shop right now, having an OME Lift kit installed. I went for the 883 Springs since I'll be installing an ARB bumper I had on my old truck. The bumper is getting a fresh Powdercoat at the moment, I'll upload pictures of the before and after when it's done.

I'll also be installing my Moto Metal rims I removed from the Old Taco. Thinking of maybe having this powder coated? I'll lose the Chrome lip, so I am not sure about that.

 

My OME kit w/883 springs and the add a leaf feok toytec were installed this week. I love the trucks new height and look.

Ride is very stiff but Im assuming it will improve when the springs settle and when I install my ARB bumper+Winch.



I also installed spidertraxx wheel spacers today. Really happy with the new stance. Will look way better when I have wider tires and my Moto Metal wheels.

 

Last Week I installed some new speakers. They are a pair of Memphis Audio 15-PRX5C (5 1/4") on the front, and a pair of Kicker 43DSC6804 6x8" on the rear. (Disregard the Crossover location, I had to shuffle it around for them to fit.)

I also did the Sail Panel Mod (4Runner Sail panel from eBay). Loving the new sound paired with my Kenwood head unit! Forgot to take pictures from the rear kickers, but installation was plug and play. The speakers don't seal perfectly on the mounts, but they sound good.

Next Audio upgrade will be a 10 Inch Subwoofer on the back of the rear seats.

 

Couple of things went down last week.
1- Bought a Winch from Harbor Freight Tools.
2-ARB knockoff (Nilights) from Amazon arrived on the mail. They are a pair of 9 inch.
3- Bought the VIP upgraded alarm.
4-10 inch shallow Rockford Fosgate subwoofer arrived.
5- Found a couple of Relentless fabrication bed bars on Craigslist.
5- Left the truck at the shop. They will mount the Bumper + Winch, LED lights, paint Chromes pearl red, put a new coat of chassis paint, and fix some dents on the bed.

Truck should be ready Saturday morning!

 

Couldn’t tell if that’s the spare tire...^^

 

Do you have the glass breaker senser with the 4 pin plug for sell if so I’m needing one how much thank you

 

I would actually keep that spare tire, be worth some money in the future, I love cars and I always watch restorations and seeing the mopar guys go crazy for spare tires all the time.

I’d get rid of that magnaflow….lol theyre just annoying on the highway and obnoxious, that might just be me as I hate exhaust noise. Nice truck.

 

My bad I read where you baught the glass breaker alarm but I can’t not fined them for sell if you don’t mind me asking where did you Puchase yours from???
