To cut or not to cut?

I installed a MBRP exhaust system in last summer ish
i never liked the way the final piece of pipe finished out the back.

Im debating cutting it and ditching the tip all together. On a slant just below where the body panel ends essentially.
Is there any negative effect to cutting this pipe at the final bend leading to the tail pipe?
like excessive drone or some acoustical science thing...

Cut it, I could never stand my stock sr5 pipe hanging out the back.

Saved the last hanger and welded on a turn down tip.

 

When in doubt bust out the cutoff wheel

 

ESPECIALLY if you ever off road it, cut it just behind the rear axle. Otherwise, it may become an integral part of rear quarter panel.

Mine is lopped off just above the axle. No change in sound, no exhaust smell, no problems. Looks cleaner too.

My magnaflow catback dumps right before the axle so yay me. Anyways, cut it.

 

I’m probably paranoid but I’ve avoided cutting mine since I use the bed as a camper and in cold weather frequently idle in the cab before getting into the shell.

 

You should be fine if you ever decide to chop it off since it would blow down an into the atmosphere. Not like the exhaust is in a garage with door shut you would have 360 degrees of circulation.

 

As long as you don't have the exhaust dumping right out of the headers, you should be fine man. Mine dumps around the rear passenger area and I have never had a problem with exhaust in the cabin.

finally cut it yesterday. looks 100000% better.

 

If I didn't put this exhaust on it, I'd probably have cut it by now. I hated the factory 90 degree exit.
