Heyo. Wondering if anyone has Plastidipped their entire 3rd gen? If so, pics would be great. My 2016's paint has enough chips, scratches and scrapes that I'm trying to figure out what to do about it. I looked into full truck wraps and was shocked and disappointed to hear that to do it right costs at least $5k, but likely more.

Seems like Plastidip would be low risk since it just peels off, but if it looks awful, then I don't want to waste the few hundred dollars.

    Thanks!

I don't like the look of plasti dip. Its a lot of work to get it on and usually the results are suboptimal

I debated maybe spraying the clear plastidip on the door sills area as a “ protective” layer and taping a 3-4” line off just below the top of the tailgate and spraying that strip again as a protective layer.

but as for the whole truck no . Maybe if the truck was 15 years old still running and looking a little ragged and I couldn’t afford a body shop paint job. Even then with a little patience and prep work you could rattle can a paint job and clear coat that would look at least decent for cheap if you had to.

Absolutely don’t coat your truck with it. You’d regret it sooner or later for sure.

Maybe he means a new paint job? It would be more than a wrap but it would obviously last way longer than a wrap or plasti dip.

I'd do brush-on bedliner if I was bored and just wanted to change the look. But that's me.

yeah, where would you go for a high quality paint job though? I'm not doing an $800 Maco job.

I'm getting ready to plastic-dip some Bushwacker fender flares to blend the bolts.

That I don’t know. Maybe one of those places that does autobody work after collisions?

An old lady crashed into my Ram a few years ago and the place that the insurance company sent my truck too matched all the paint perfectly. You could never tell it was in a crash just from looking at it.

I've dipped wheels, grille surrounds and bumpers.

    :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

The only thing remaining are the wheels on my camper.

No way in hell would I do an entire truck.

    :D

Great stuff! My advice is to alcohol prep first of course, then do like 8-9 super light coats. Comes out great.

Mandatory pictures please and thank you.

Haven't seen one myself, but after seeing my two year old camper wheels that never seem to be clean, I believe it.
