Ah I guess I should have clarified..I know I'm on 3.73's as well. What ratio did you end up going with? I'm looking at ECGS at the moment. (For re-gear and lockers)

And you're a 5speed auto? See, I'm on 34s with the auto trans and also had the 3.73s in the stock rear diff. I felt like the truck was a PIG even just with those tires on. I can't imagine it with 35s and stock gearing! But I agree though, now with 4.56 gears it's night and day. Truck stays in 5th on the highway and has passing power again.

Yes, I am running a 5-speed auto. Did you have additional weight on the truck besides the larger tires?

No. Not until this week (getting sliders and a bed rack). Truck was basically stock weight for the most part.

I'm looking at 4.30s and 255/85/16. What RPM are you seeing at 65mph and are you an auto or manual?

*edit, not sure why the rest of my post got cut off @ssmith0480

No shit....that's bad ass! That wasn't available like 2 months ago or I'd have gotten it! I'm still very happy with my 4.56 choice but I think 4.30 would be even better. That sounds like the sweet spot for guys who don't have an extra thousand pounds of bumpers and such.

Oh wow. Sorry I was so late seeing this. Do you still need the numbers? I’m auto. It’s a sweet ratio for mine being a DD. I also tow a 6000 lb travel trailer a few times a year, does fine. I will check the Rpm’s at a few speeds and get back to you.

Yeah that was my line of thinking. I plan on an aluminum bumper and some steel sliders later but I don’t think it’ll matter much. I carry about 200 lb of sandbags in the bed to soften the Dakars up a little so I’ll take some out after the armor goes on.

    65 mph 2000 rpm
    70 mph 2200 rpm
    75 mph 2400 rpm
    80 mph 2600 rpm
    85 mph 2750 rpm

And I’m automatic, no armor yet. 4.30 Yukons.
