I'm pretty sure if you disable weather updates via internet and just keep the HD radio option on it would solve the problem... It's a workaround for sure and I wasn't able to really test it yet since it hasn't rained one drop in weeks... It'd actually be about time since we are literally on fire here in NC...

Today was the 1st time I've ever had my radio reset itself. It was constantly resetting and was really pissing me off.
My phone is a shitty Droid Turbo, paired through Bluetooth my phone and radio works without any problems.
Dad plugged his iPhone in through the USB port and that's when it went to shit. But as soon as you unplugged the iPhone...... Back to normal without any problems. So it seems to be a phone issue to me. But hey I'm no expert.

I was wondering if just going to the HD radio option (removing phone part) would slow down the traffic app as well? I like that one, but if the issue w/ the weather app is causing the reboot, I just wondered if I would be affecting it as well.

I've only had mine reboot once while it's been raining (although it doesn't rain a lot here), but I have encountered a spot on the way to Spokane, WA from where I live and one between there and Kellogg, ID where it always reboots. I decided it must be some type of dead spot

    Toyota's typical response:

    It's your phone.
Could not duplicate your issue. No problems here.
This is normal and customary for your truck.

    Good bye.

I think you are on to something ... it is the weather app. Mine also resets once in awhile when its damp out at start up, usually in the morning. The weather apps always struggles to boot up in the morning, especially when it has been raining. I went to my dealership and told him about this at my 10k service and he said there was not a TSB flash for the radio but he ordered a replacement head unit and will call me in a few weeks to swap them out.

Mine rebooted in the rain earlier this week. I thought it was a one-off. Hasn't rebooted since, but expecting rain soon. So I will see then. I guess if more and more people report this they will eventually fix it.

This happened to me today! It was raining at the time. I had just connected my lights yesterday and thought I had faulty connections somewhere. Bittersweet..

I think I answered my own question this morning on the way to work. It's been raining since Saturday when I first had this issue, so I turned off the phone assist for the HD radio this Monday morning before I drove into work. No rebooting, but also no traffic as the HD signal was too weak w/ the rain (it said no signal, so I'm guess the rain hindered that).

So, my theory is that when the head unit pulls more from the phone when the HD signal is poor, it crashes for some reason. I wish there was a way to just disable the weather app as I never use that on my truck since my phone's is much better, but loved the traffic info. Now I lose the useful info due to some software issue on an app that I never use.

Oh, and I forgot to add.

    The same Camry:

The power locks don't work when it's hot outside.

If it's cold only in the mornings, they will work. As soon as it warms up, they stop working.

This just happened to me today. Iphone 7 paired listening to a podcast. Happened 3 times in 10 minutes. Switched to HD radio, and it stopped. I have a work phone, Iphone 6, paired to the phone and my 7 paired to the Bluetooth. Switched to Pandora which runs through the phone connection, not the Bluetooth and no issues.

I will switch the HD settings as suggested.

Has anyone had T-SB-0103 done? I just found that in another thread.

My radio re-booted itself 3 times today within a half of an hour. It was raining pretty hard all day.
Even re-booted while I was on the phone (bluetooth).

Was raining, no reboot, I don't have HD channels in my town so weather/traffic does not work. People having this problem do you have HD channels in your area?

Wow there's a lot of threads on this.

I just did the TSB today and am optimistic that it'll fix it.

Sub'd for any sort of resolution or even root cause. My radio rebooted all morning and it was raining all day.

So far so good on my truck w/ the updated software. I did it two days ago while it was still raining a lot and no issues since. Even switched mine back to HD + phone and still no issues. I'm hoping this was it.
