    Mine sounds like a diesel, valve clatter, etc. but it seems to get a steady 24 + mpgs

    Dumped my 2004 for a 2016 Silverado 4.3L get 21mpg Highway and 19 mixes driving. All with 255/75r17 Duratracs does just fine for the off-roading that 99% of the people on here do. Especially if you learn to drive it and realize it’s a full size. Don’t miss it on bit.

    At 27 MPG it has far more to do with the grade of the road.

    I do 20 miles in each direction to work every day and I can get 24-25 without much effort but the road has very little elevation change.

    On a 100 mile trip to the coast, where there are long sweeping elevation changes, I can’t break 20.

    But yes, careful driving habits certainly help
