Hey, anyone know if the 2.0 p5f for the 2021s is out yet? (04C20)

I've got the custom tune in vft that I created and still haven't been able to test... But I'd like to have a solid backup plan for a dude.

Will you please share which tire size you have? I did a 5.29 regearing and have bigger tires *(33s) and my max/top speed is limited to 78mph even if I stand on my gas pedal regardless of which gear I'm on.
Thanks to @Dirk Diggler from the other thread said to come here to find help for a Tune to unlock. Thank you!

The only thing available for the 2021s is that Stock file. In the end, you're going to have to meet up multiple times. 04C20 Stock, 04C20 Base tune, and 04C20 Final options. You might just consider waiting, or at least having that discussion?

@johnnyjunk is an MT. We don't have that gearing / speedo limit problem.

If you have your ECU ID unlocked (04B04?), there is nothing else that you need to Unlock. Just open the 2.0 Base 5.29 tune. In the Engine DriveTrain Control section, you can edit the Speed Limiter, Wheel Radius, FD Gearing, and such. With that, you should be golden to be drag limited.

Edit: Sorry! I just searched out the Gearing and Tire Size maps. Those are not in the Engine section, but the DriveTrain Control:

@tonered I do not have a VF flasher or OV tune. I don't know if my ECU is locked or unlocked. All I did was buy stock tacoma, add 33s and regear to 5.29s. Now I am limited at 78mph. What should I do next? Nobody told me that I have to get an ECU update if I did a re-gear.

SD, huh? @daveeasa and you might put your heads together?

It looks like you have a Tactrix? That's half way there. If you grab a vF license, we could work out a deal on a tune.

There's another guy in UTC who is interested too. But I'm thinking I might want to get the whole dang license going and try custom tunes cause that's what Tony does. @bacon_st were you just looking for a 2.0 flash? I have a thread going with a guy in the OC who is game for doing that.

It might be worthwhile if you guys are all conveniently close.

    @bacon_st

Sorry! I didn't nail you speed limiter question. The only way that I know to fix it is with the editable vF tunes.

@daveeasa , thank you for replying.
Really green here. I just learned today that I require an ECU update after regearing your truck to 5.29s. I sincerely don't know what is wrong with my truck, or what to do to fix my truck. I was considering going back to stock gears.
Here is the issue: For the past year, after regearing to 529's and putting on 33s tires (only two mods on my truck) , my truck couldn't go faster than 78mph in any gear even if I stand on my gas pedal.
All this time I surrendered and conceded to that as my top speed as I thought it was a direct result of re-gearing until today when I told someone else that re-gearing to 529s will limit you to 78mph, and folks there says they don't have that speed limit problem.
I have repeatedly asked this question on the other thread, but no one seems to confirm or deny if that's an issue unique to my truck with all their puns and jabs and dump jokes.
I sincerely don't know what I need. No one in the other thread wants to answer clearly or help without giving them a pound of flesh.

So, I'm probably greener than you cause I have stock gearing and stock tires. I'm rather pathetic in that department. Currently obsessing about fluids.

Buuuuuut, @TWTaco seemed ready and able to help out a different guy in UTC and willing to travel. I think he'd be your best bet if you are AT? I think maybe he knows a lot more about AT, 5.29 and 33's than I do b/c I know nothing about that fun stuff.

The main problem is that the speed limiter is read off of the AT output shaft, not the wheel speed sensors. So, that is why changing your FD gears affects your road speed.

An OV tune will fix that.

yo, I have an AT, with 5.29's and 33s. Can confirm that after tuning (one of the simplest changes possible, it's literally ONE field you change), I raised the governor to a speed i'll never hit, and I have been over 78. Because the gears are super new (just finished my 500 mile break in tonight, actually), I haven't pushed it far past that, but I can def go faster than 78. MPGs start to really take a hit with that 33/5.29 combo above 70, but it's possible.

with some quick math, since the stock electronic governor is 107 mph, I would have thought the un-tuned speed max would be closer to 70 (which would suck), but I imagine what you're hitting is the governor, not the mechanical limit for your truck.

@DownhillDragon , That is good to know. Did you get the latest OVTune? I'm considering the OVtune flash strongly and trying to get a flash from someone on this thread who has the tuner. It's a holiday weekend.

I'm in Washington state and if there's anyone who could do the OV Tune to my '17, for a fee, of course, I can come to you on a Saturday or Sunday whenever you're available. PM me if you're interested.

Where in WA? @tonered is up north while me and @cemented are near Vancouver/Portland. We both travel as needed so one of us can assist.
