Also considering a cover for my new Tacoma, but think I am more interested in a soft cover so I can remove it easily.
Great seeing all of the recommendations.
Anyone ever had a Gator cover?

Ditto, the OEM cover is built like a tank and embossed with factory "TACOMA".

I thought you could match the Elite lock to your existing ignition key, no?

I LOVE this cover. Have the SE myself because they didn’t make the Elite at the time for my ‘15. Love the handle, love how it looks. Enjoy!

The lock on the cover will key itself to your ignition key if your ignition key is the "tooth" type. I have the push to start button and no ignition switch. My factory tailgate key has the groove in the center, no "teeth." Due to the lock design on the cover, the factory key cannot be used. Undercover shipped me a separate key for use on the cover only. They said they may have a lock design in the future for the newer style grooved key. Other than the key issue, which is not a big deal, I like this cover quite a bit.IMG_0455.jpg

Ah I gotcha. Wasn’t thinking about push to start. I have a separate key for my SE, doesn’t bother me a bit. Just hangs on the keychain with my truck keys. I don’t have to lock it all the often anyway.

For the money, you can't beat the Extang Trifecta 2.0. Its a soft folding cover that can be removed/reinstalled quickly. During power washing, there have been a few drips, but no water penetration from rain or driving. I can take photos of how it mounts on the interior if needed!

I ended up with the Bak Industries Revolver X2. Love it. Would have loved an aluminum sliding cover, but those priced me out. The Revolver X2 is a great compromise with functionality and cost and it isn't a tri-fold.

I've not seen anyone add tie down cleats to their Undercover SE. My Elite is very sturdy, but it's a cover, not a platform. (I know the UnderCover site shows 7 people standing on one of these covers although the Spec Sheet Weight Capacity shows "Snow/Rain Load".) These covers are a bit awkward to remove because of the one piece design, but it can be removed in a few minutes to transport something large. I was able to find a like new factory tonneau for sale locally and got it for a decent price, $350.00 for everything. I plan to keep both. The one piece installed for our snowy, rainy winter weather. And trifold for the summer when we haul mulch, flea market finds, etc. Each has positives and negatives.

I totally misread that post, I thought he was asking if the stock cleats could mount on the rails underneath the cover. I would definitely not mount tie downs to the top of the cover. I'm still not sure if the sliding cleats will fit in the remaining space on the utility rail below the cover. Looks like they might but not sure. Especially on the front rail.

Wish they had the Elite for the 2nd Gen. Love how it looks, love the handle too.

If I mount through what would the negatives be? Do you think it would take away from the integrity?

I was wondering how prone to cracks the holes might be. With properly sized mounting plates it might be possible. It's a pretty expensive cover to be drilling holes into though. Diamondback is terrific, but how easy is it to remove if necessary?
