Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Haven't missed mine for probably 60,000mi. Can't bring myself to sell the set though in case I get a fix-it-ticket...

Depends on where and how you drive. Me, I have lots of stone chips with them on, I'd have no paint left on the lower portion of my truck if I took them off.

I would keep them on. I've never had a truck without mud flaps. When I see how beat up my mud flaps look I would be bummed if my paint looked like that instead.

Mud flaps are required in a few places and those guys think they should be everywhere. This is just another useless government regulation by people who want to control your life. They are not required here and probably less than 1% of the trucks and SUV's on the road use them. I've been driving for 43 years. Never once have I had an issue with a pickup throwing rocks at me.

The front flaps broke off on my truck after 3 years, I took all 4 off at the time. The truck looks better and even with 1000's of miles either off road or on forest service dirt/gravel roads I have no damage to my trucks paint.

If you like 'em, keep 'em.

If you DETEST the mere sight of 'em like I do, either cut 'em down to where they're less conspicuous, or throw 'em in the "No longer in use" pile in the corner of the garage.

I'd like to take mine off, because I think it looks better. BUT, I'm on a dirt road at least 2 to 3 times per week, and I don't want to sling rocks all down the side of the truck.

I've wondered if there's any connection between frame rust and lack of mud flaps. My gut tells me that being peppered with gravel probably speeds it up but that's just a speculation.

OTOH the rigid plastic things on second gens are beyond annoying. I replaced mine with heavy rubber. Looks ghetto but does the trick and no scraping on speed bumps.
