Haha, indeed. He felt stupid for doing so but knew it was only a matter of time before he'd get in trouble. He has huge tires on an F250 and I've always told him to design some mudflaps mainly for when it rains. Been behind him before and had to have my wipers on high and occasionally wash the windshield due to all the spray. He is making a set this weekend so he can get the ticket dismissed next week.

The day I got my truck (just 3 weeks ago) I immediately took off all 4 mudflaps. The next morning, all 4 went back on. I took one drive down a gravel road and damn near sand blasted the side of my new to me taco :(

My brother took all 4 off and it looks pretty good, it does, however, throw rocks a lot because he has general grabbers, they tend to hit the body and under the body. imo you really only get hit by rocks if you are following too close but even then its pretty rare...

I took two off after the snow took the first 2 off for me, and in my opinion the fronts were just hideous

for you guys that raw dog it (no mudflaps, which looks better IMO), what do you do about rock chips on the side of your Taco?! Just drive and not care about it? 3M clear protection? I'm thinking about getting some of the short Rokblokz and calling it a day.

No nothing major, but even if you don't go off road the water and sand from the road will eventually eat through the clear coat then the paint, may take a little while, but if you own your truck for yrs you will see the effects. They aren't on there just for looks.

You just have to not be a Nancy boy. You're on the edge so you better take them off fast

I just cut my fronts down 2" and called it a day. I tested with them off and it really makes a mess of the side of the truck fast. My tires pick up some stones and I hear them blasting the flaps so I'm fine with the plastic taking the beating. I'm not that "guy" throwing rocks at your windshield, I don't like it I'm sure others don't either.

I already took mine off for 1 day and sandblasted the side of my truck by driving down a gravel road at 55mph. Put them back on the next day.

A few days ago, I ordered the short Rokblokz, problem solved.

Has anyone made filler plates for the fender wells after removing the flaps to cover the openings behind them? If so, what did you use?

I took those ugly-ass mud flaps off at least 6 years ago. Haven't regretted it since.
