Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I'm sorry if this has been covered, searched the forums but came up empty.

Anyone have a crossover tool box AND a roll-up tonneau cover on a Gen3 access cab?

Seems like it should be relatively easy to do, but I'd sure like to know if anyone else has done this and what all was involved.

My truck currently has a rigid tri-fold cover. It's nice, I like it, but I miss the extra storage space and convenience of a side access crossover tool box. It would be great if I could somehow cut this cover back to accommodate the tool box, but at this point I don't see how that would be possible.

I had thought that more people around here would have done this. Apparently not. [crickets]

There are some youtube vids up, I'm still sorting through them.

FWIW, I gave up (yeah, I know, I suck).

I have warmed to the idea of having a rigid tonneau cover (keeps the snow and crap from the trees out of the bed, and provides some amount of security). Truxedo makes an under-the-tonneau tool box for full-size trucks (that unlatches from the driver's side!) that would have been nice. I contacted them about 6-weeks ago and asked about a smaller version for the Taco. They said they had no current plans for one, but would keep it in mind (bummer). I went with swing-out side tool cases for storage (they hold quite a bit and are easily removable when need be). There's also an oem "cargo keeper" towards the front for grocery-getting.

Ask me again how I feel about the rigid tonneau next time I need to get a water heater or a load of mulch.
