Hey guys, the top console (where the thermometer and compass are) in my 05 Taco has quit working. My first thoughts are either a fuse is blown, or the bulb is bad. However, I can't figure out which fuse is the correct one, even with a Chilton-Haynes manual. Also, if it is a bulb, is this a simple DIY fix, or one that I should have done at a dealer?

there is a write up on the overhead compass temp fix. there are two soldered resistors and one of them has most likely broken off. it is a common problem and it has happened with my tacoma too. i bought some resistors at frys and soldered a new one in place of the old resistor. works like new. type in overhead compass fix in the search tab and you should find a detailed write up.
