Nice! I've always loved the look on those but never really liked into them. In up for new tires and was going to go with cooper maxx but they run too small so was going to settle on km2s but it seems inventory on the sizes I want aren't available, I'm guessing due to the port closures.

Thanks! I did the same thing I always liked the look but I was pretty set on KM2s and didn't even really look into them. Then I realized these probably would save me close to 200$, plus they look great for both on and off road use.

Yea that whole port closure is really screwing people up.

So today I took all the wheels off my truck and am going to try to take them to wheel works tmrw and just get the tires swapped/balanced. It's gunna look like a whole new truck with these tires IMO.

Also pulled the vape canister to test it out w/ a vacuum pump. If it's bad I'll replace that before the steering rack. Hopefully that's what's causing my bad gas mileage.... Been looking for the culprit for so long..

Can't wait to test fit these things! They are pretty fuckin heavy compared to the 31's.

Also tested my vape canister today and it failed the last test. It wouldn't hold a vacuum. Hoping my gas mileage will improve a little!

Well I got some more goodies in the mail today.

I also got some bad news from toytec about my shocks.. They are so rusted they can't loosen them and are trying different rust solutions.. I just told them to try the transmission fluid mixed with acetone.. But if they can't loosen them the only option is basically to replace the shock and rebuild them. 360$...
I'm basically at the point where if they can't adjust them and they need to rebuild them I'm going to just get some OME shocks from wheelers offroad or whatever and then try to sell the boss shocks when I get them back. Shit I might just try to sell them as is so I don't have to pay the 360$... Fucking sucks!!!!

yea.. oh well shit happens.. now I'm just stuck and unsure of what to do next.. i don't really want to wait until friday to see if they will loosen up because I'm 99% sure they won't.

    my options are:

new OME coils/struts from wheelers off road… 600$

    or

rebuild boss shocks 360$ + shipping..
plus they will be rusty as shit within a year..

    what would you do?!?!?!

    :frusty: :frusty: :smash: …. lol.

PS: if i get the OME coil overs i MIGHT be able to sell the boss shocks for a couple hundred as is… they would basically need to be rebuilt regardless..

Not because I have them, but the ome setup sounds like it might be a better option. For one the boss coilover does not sound durable... Plus with the ome setup if you did blow a shock, which I haven't heard of, it wouldn't be too much heartburn to get a replacement swapped in. Certainly less down time and cost than sending in to toytec.

Ok so on my drive home I had some time to think this out clearly.. My plan of attack will be:
Rebuild the boss shocks, use them for a month or so and grease the shit out of the shocks so that they don't rust again.. Sell them. Buy OME shocks.

This way my boss shocks will hold their sale value instead of selling them for like 100 or 200$ as is I will be able to get like 6-700$ for them after they are rebuilt and basically new (hopefully....). This is the most cost effective way that I can think of..

This would also make it so I can stay in the ARB locker group buy.

yep the rear, I figure I probably won't need a front locker until i get some more skid protection anyways. If i have enough for both (plus shipping) i might just get both but i don't think i will have enough by the time the group buy ends.

Well i paid toytec to fully rebuild my shocks and they said they will have them shipped by the end of the day! WOOT! it feels good to know that i will have my truck back in action soon.

Also got my last package in the mail.

    Hey! Nice build.

Think you made a smart choice about rebuilding the COs

What OME coils will you go with? I love my 883s w/ my ARB bumper and winch; 882s might be better for you though with less weight up front.

Also, get the tires on!! Love the Red Letters!

Thanks bro! Yea it took me a second to really think about it but I'm glad I went that route.

Probably go w/ some 882's, hopefully they aren't too stiff until I get a winch eventually.

having my tires sitting in front of my apartment door has been driving me crazy.. I want to put them on so badly haha.

    4banger won't sit too high with 882?

Iono, maybe. I was honestly going to just call wheelers to place my order and have then decide on what springs to go with haha. I think Im somewhere between 881's and 882's.

Do your research, they would have thrown me on 883's which I've heard is a stiff ride.

Could also go w/ the 881s and add the 10mm spacer if you need a lil extra height

Guys at Wheelers know their shit.

Fwiw the 883s are a little stiff but I think they work great with my setup, extra weight up front really helps, I'd guess that the bumper and winch weigh in at ~175#
