    Gents, and ladies, maybe,

Looking for some help finding a deal on a new topper somewhere close to Denver Metro. Looking for a deal and not looking to pay retail. The folks I talked to on the phone seem like they can't or don't want to discount a topper.

Before you throw out the "why don't you use the search function", I did... Y'all talk a lot on the BS and Trading boards. I went through 11 pages of that crap. The title search yielded two threads. The best one was from 2016.

I think I want a Leer 100XR with the ventdoors. Open to something similar.

Please don't ignore me, that's just prick-ish. And, don't be a prick. If we end up meeting one day, I'll piss on your tire. JK, or maybe not...

Help a fella out. Open to any help you're willing to provide.

Ignored in the hopes that I get my tire pissed on even though I don't drive a JK.

Took me 6 months, but found one (ARE) on craigs list. Told I paid to much, $600, but it's the same year and color as my truck.

I’d say your best bet is Craigslist. That’s where I got both of mine. First one for $500 and then sold that one and bought my Snugtop for $1000.

Edit: Obviously for a new 3rd gen topper it’ll be a little bit more pricey but not as expensive as the dealers I’d imagine.

It’ll be hard finding a used topper for a 2018
As others said watch Craigslist or OfferUp

Shopping around is about the best you can do. I waited a while hoping to find a good used one before I just sucked it up and bought new. Never seen them substantially discounted or anything.

    Rebecca,

Agreed on the used. I have Quicksand longbed. That makes it even harder to find used. A&A is who I'm dealing with on the Leer. Supposedly Century is a cheaper Leer, but Aerosuds quoted me more for the Century than A&A did for the Leer. Scratching my head on that one. Did you have to pay retail or did you get a hookup?

    I just paid retail
    Bought once cried once
If I were you,I’d just buy what I wanted and call it good.
You might be able to find one on CL, but it may be a total pain in the ass dealing with the people of CL.
Sometimes just buying what you want is better than dealing with a complete SS :D

You can also buy from S-Cargo in Loveland if you're up north. My understanding is there isn't a discount market on new toppers. Snugtop will have monthly sales; you can check their website. These will be discounts on accessories like windows and other upgrades but not usually the toppers themselves or much more than $100 in value.

I used them to special order a custom Snugtop Hiliner and they got it in a week sooner. No discounts even with dropping names of friends that had recently bought shells from the same dude.

Yep, It's a racket and not going to get a discount on new. Best they do is monthly they will give you something for "free" (ie Lights, windoors, etc) but pay full price for the topper

If you're looking for a deal and don't want to pay retail then craigslist is your best bet. But toppers, especially what you're looking for, seem to hold their value here.

Or you can check Expedition Portal and other 4wheel enthusiast sites and see if they're less prickish.

They're ok. I've bought two toppers from them including the current one on the Tacoma.

I found my topper on Craigslist, paid about 1/2 of the new price from S-Cargo. It was sitting never sold, I guess the color was weird and didn't match the truck it was special ordered for close enough. It's the 2nd gen gold flake (not tan) and ATC brand. My truck is white so doesn't match and the quality I'd call "functional". But keeps stuff dry, the back door locks and they installed it for free so it was worth $500 to me.

I called probably 5 dealers on the front range when I was looking for mine, I looked at snugtop and leer. Best I could do for price/options was A&A. I have the 100XR with the tracks, carpet headliner, and front slider. It was right around 2 grand out the door with taxes. Unless you can find a used one, you're not going to be able to do too much better.

Thank you for all the feedback. I'm about to pull the tigger on a new one so I can get the correct color and sliding windoors. Wish me luck!

I used S-Cargo in Loveland also. Family business and really helpful. At the time I bought mine, brand new they had one with slight damage for a discount but not with the features I wanted.

You may want to check with them and see about any discounted ones like this and even other dealers that may have some other options like this. Returns, color not 100% or other reasons for them having it back in stock to try to sell at the discount so they are not sitting on it.

    Good luck.
