I expected between 260-275 ft/lbs of torque but didn't think it would require 600 more RPM's than the Colorado to get there. I am keeping an open mind though. Looks pretty good in black.

261 torque isn't too much for your 2 wheel drive model....

So would 95% of Tacoma owners, which is why it will soften and become less of a truck with each generation.

Well the engine power figures are not at all impressive given the competition in the segment (including the current Tacoma). The fuel economy numbers better be great or they're gonna have a hard time staying on top. Especially when the updated frontier and ridgeline hit the market. They might actually have to start offering factory rebates and incentives... that'll be the day.

TW is a niche market forum.

On 15 years when the gen 4 is being discussed in a violent, masturbatory fashion as the gen 3 is, you'll see.

Disappointing. Still hoping for a good torque curve. I'm still going to the release event in Calgary but that number at that RPM is weak sauce.

At least it's not fully DI. I don't want to deal with regular intake valve cleaning.

Is anybody really surprised? I'm sorry, but I could see this coming, smaller engine, more gears, less torque, more revs. Glad I bought the '15 OR.

aires 3D mats, scan gauge II, rear differential breather relocation, and bakflip G2 bed cover.
I'm interested to see the towing capacity and how well it tows with the new transmission.

I like power as much as the next person, but in the end, how much do we really need? I'm not losing sleep over this at all. As someone who has been driving now more than half my life, I got excited when the truck I drove, with a V6, got 175hp.

    BTW, I'm a fellow wx-er.

Awesome! Thanks for your service. Ya it dosent bother me my truck just carries my dirt bikes. But when toyota announced the engine was anyone surprised compared to the 4.0. Like I mentionted if MPG is worthwhile I'll be happy when I upgrade later down the road.

Just to clarify... not the AF part. Just the wx part on the civil service side. But yeah, the MPGs will mean a lot for me, as I have 55 mile round trip commute. Over time, there's going to be a big difference between 22mpg and 26mpg (just guessing out of left field on the numbers).
