One of my favorite aspects of this build is the method in which you present your experiences.

I'm not going to pretend to understand everything you post - I just don't have that level of knowledge. But from reading and experiencing NEVR I've gained much more than I could have under other circumstances.

It's close.... I can feels it.

Been like a year since I started following this thread. After reading the first 50 or so pages and hit the end and realized you weren't finished yet I almost lost it. Lol.
Of all the people who pioneer their way through their trucks, you take the cake.

 

Not in yet. Dang pool has been swallowing up my time. Today though, I start the teardown. Should be finished by next week, as I am going to take my time.

Going to be either a major accomplishment of the pinnacle of the 1GR built boosted engine family, or a let down of massive proportions. Realistically, there is that chance.

As things move along this afternoon, there will be pictures to satisfy those appetites. :thumsup:

My new proper TOB arrived today. This was a call to Tilton to take up the request of scores of people complaining about the adjustable TOB from McLeod Racing.

It is a beauty!

Kidding. Haha you got it right. I don't think I know much more than you when it comes to a lot of this stuff though... the inside of a motor is still kind of a mystery to me. Haha I understand most of what is in there and how it works at a basic level but what is better than what is over my head.

 

If you have questions ask. I'll dummy it down as best as possible. If I cannot answer the question, I know who can.

 

Umm... can you build me a motor just like yours? haha

I was at the dunes last weekend and my motor is gutless under 3K... if I hit the hill at 4K I could usually maintain speed but if not I would lose speed rapidly until it dropped down a gear upon which I would start gaining speed for a sec until I started to lose traction in the sand from going to slow now.

What all performance mods do you have? Also, do you have different gearing?

 

I have a bone stock motor. All I have done is relocate the intake into the firewall so it wasn't sucking up mud from the fender. That increases my intake temps at low speeds/stopped, but I was moving fast enough at the dunes to see temps close to ambient. I am running 4.88 gears in the diffs.
