    I'll definitely let you know when it happens, Chris. Shoot, every one that reads this thread will know. I'll will be so stoked when that happens! Met some new people this past weekend, from a Houston B.S. thread mini meet. I was excited fo meet them and give some ride-alongs. It just feels rewarding to share the experience.

    I had stainless wire on it before. Was all out at the time of the wrap install, but had plenty of stainless ties. They'll have to do for the time being. This is the old setup. To hold me over until the stroker engine is back up and the exhaust is re fabricated to fit the BW turbo.

    This setup will only be run at ~5 psi on this engine. It is still plenty of power over N/A. Should be around 330 whp & 380 wtq

    Not sure if you are asking if that is a flex coupling on the wastegate dump tube, or if I have a flex coupling on the exhaust? Therefore, I'll answer the whole thing.

    I have 3 Vibrant Performance, stainless steel, turbo lined, flex couplings. One on the crossover, one on the down-pipe, and one on the wastegate dump tube. They work and have worked very well. They absorb more flex, vibration, and expansion than bellows can. The turbo lined couplings are designed for pressurized exhaust systems, where as their non turbo lined couplings are not. <<< For those whom weren't aware.

    I was just curious. I just remember reading a build where the guy put one on EVERYTHING, including his wastegate. Ill have to look it up again but he swore by them "if you wanted your setup to last..." :notsure:

    He also said not to heat wrap everything b/c the heat will cause the metal to crack which is why I decided not to. I think that's mainly for ppl that go with cheap kits like me though :p

    Cheap metals will have a harder time lasting against that contained heat. Like you said, cheaper kits use cheaper materials.

    With the way my truck will be used, under extended loads, wrapping and heat abatement is an absolute must. That is what I ceramic coated everything first, then wrapped it. To go along with that, I also used 321 stainless steel and 347 rod. Contains titanium and more nickel than 304 ss. Retains heat better, and less prone to carbon cracking. There is a technical term for that. Lol. I believe it is carbon embrittlement...?

    Inconel 625 is my wet dream material....:drool:

    So while my idle temps are high-ish, I sat at WOT for probably 2 minutes straight staying above 4K rpm the whole time climbing a dune and my temp peaked at about 192* with an ambient temp in the mid 70's. As soon as I let off the throttle to come back down the dune and my RPM's drop back down to the 2K range my temp shoots up to the high 190's low 200's though.

    I just need a bigger fan and/or waterpump for the low RPM stuff;) haha
