fyi rockland standard gear now makes a 4x4 t-56 maybe you could get just the housing from them?

 

He's still 4wd and on beadlocked 37's that weigh about 150lbs per corner!

 

Already the plan. I do believe that means that the output shaft might have to be changed from its current size, to a smaller one. At least that was a topic of discussion when I spoke with them sometime last year.

Hey Mark something to replace my ebay turbo under the hood. Ball bearing, watercooled T3/T04E. This should treat me well and be better for the dirt. WD40 can for size reference. Need to measure it, but looks like a 50 trim compressor and my turbine housing is closing down to a .48AR from the current .63AR should boost a lot earlier and almost no lag.

 

Looks like things have changed since i last spoke with them then. This could be really good.

Not exactly sure where you are going with that question? You planning on a turbo build?
If so, from my research some time ago, a GT35(xx)R is damn near perfect for stock displacement. Especially with the TiAL stainless steel housing. We used the .91 (not sure if that # is a few hundredths off) and it was perfect on Toon714 's auto. The GTX version would be even better. That size is good for ~600 hp, and spools in the 2k range with that A/R. The smaller A/R would be in the low 2k range.

Yup.

That will probably spool about 500-800 RPMs sooner. If while cruising, at say 70 -75mph, and you notice that the engine is at or near boost, then you'll need a little larger turbine housing. Happened when the fabricator at PowerFab put too small a turbine housing on his XR's turbo kit. Lol.

Regardless, it is going to be one snappy turbo!

 

It came off a scion tc which is the same displacement. Hopefully the turbo is just waiting to spool at speed. Right now it takes a full second or longer to even start doing anything if I mash on the throttle at 3k rpm. It still is a pretty large compressor side to try and spin up. We'll see. Should be what I'm looking for.

I miss squirrel performance. It was an amazing turbo calculator.

 

Oh, I didn't realize that your current turbo was so large. Well then, that 5-800 RPM difference will be right where it needs to be.

Started working on trying to mount my Draft 42 Design Catch can. The universal mounting brackets don't work where I need them to. Onto a little DIY. Traced out the bracket from some aluminum angle.



And the can for those who don't know which one I am referring to.



Had to order a few more fittings. Then I can do a before and after set of pictures

 

It took me a couple of hours(or more time) to go Through the post....!!! I like it a lot and nice set up man!!

He was the fabricator who worked at PowerFab, and was the "turbo kit maker" for the 1GR.

 

I'm not very familiar with Turbos but that turbo seems pretty big under that hood.

 

It's around the size of my current one. As well as the Precision 6766. Good for about 7-8. I don't know the actual hp capability of his turbo though, without looking it up.

 

So much boost

 

i think he may need to do some ball ping hammer work to get the hood to shut

 

I think that thing will straight suck up the zombies as boost juice!
