    That kit arrives today. Oddly, I am most excited about the radiator support bushings. Weird. I'll post up a picture later today. Going to be a rush to try and get those on, as well as replace the ball joints, and swap out new front springs, before the MSR race on April 4th. Shoot, I still need to swap in the Injector Dynamics injectors.....

    Those went along with his Draft 42 stealth catch can installation. Vent to atmosphere FTW. We finished with all of the modding yesterday.

    There is. The FJ and 4Runner oil necks are the same length as the Tacoma, but made from aluminum. Where as the Tundra neck is shorter, but I don't remember which material it is made out of.

    Yeah. I really dig his covers. :thumbsup:

    Another thing I am looking for is this. So I make the call out to the off-road knowledge base out there. Heim joint steering. Tie -rods, with heim joints, to the spacers/misalignment spacers at the steering knuckles. Whatever it is called.

    Looking for top quality, with the nylon inserts, since i primarily stay on road. As well as heim joint boots. Any body able to direct me to a link or links? Are their any members running these, and or vendors which sell kits? SDHQ or other perhaps?

    Damn! Those are pretty cool, Darthyota. Their page suck for mobile use though. :/

    Still would like some other options as well. Including the adapter (if needed) to attack it to the turn buckle, or rack and pinion threads.

    I saw a bunch on hiem steering in the long travel thread a while ago but I'm not sure I could find that page to save my life! I'd poke around and ask in there.

    Caveat emptor: this kit is RIDICULOUSLY (over)priced, and I should note that I did not have to pay the full bill---nor would I ever pay full price for this kit. It doesn't even come with boots!!! Buttttttt, it is a nice upgrade if you do wanna flip that bill for the kit. Made by Readylift. I'm sure having your network, you can find a much cheaper and just as good option(if not better) to custom machine a kit for your truck.

    Edit: I have the Napa part # for the proper fitting boots for this kit in case you need it. :D

    Yes, sort of. Mission the other parts. I'll have to look more in there. Good start though. I believe thus is part of what I was speaking about with one of the guys at a shop some time ago. Always seem to have something jump in line of other things.....lol


    What's up dude! This is pretty much exactly what i am talking about! Is yours attached to the OEM steering knuckle, or is your steering knuckle aftermarket? I can't quite tell.

    Do you have a size of the heim joint, and possible the "bolt" (whatever it is called) which goes through the steering knuckle? As in diameter? Curious if I'd have to drill the hole or not.

    So the two parts of this kit that are hard to do are the machined clevis and the ball joint to heim conversion pin. The machined clevis won't be too hard to make, just have to find the right conversion pin. :D

    I'm just saying that if they have a cnc in house that clevis won't be hard to make. The threaded tube with machined flats aren't that hard either. If they have to make the conversion pin that will take some machining as well. I don't see $800 worth of product though.

    My guess is that they're buying the clevis from Camburg, so markup comes into play.

    I had to drill mine wider into the knuckle. You get rid of the taper for the ball joint. Think it is 3/4" Mine is just threaded on the stock tie rod.

    Mine is like this. Adapts a heim joint to the factory rack. Not super strong like the full replacement, but they are easy to make with some tubing and bungs welded at each end.
