Interesting.

 

I get about 14 - 15 mpg with five cylinders.....And I have a "beater" Bimmer that I paid $500 for. Likely needs a new head....doh.

 

I see. The way i drive, I probably get around 13-15 or so. Lately a little better because clutch was dead so no boosting. Would like to get something at least 25+

 

With all six cylinders, and cruising between 45 -50, in my 6th gear, I get around 35 mpg. To bad I hoon most places. Lol

 

Holy moly! Yea if I keep it around 65 I get about 20 or so mpg. As soon as I hit any hills it drops to 12-13 or so.

Which specifically was chosen to aid in spooling the turbo. Through the induced engine load. All combined to create a higher capable top speed.

There was an instantaneous joy of being able to go ~50 mph in first gear....once it was all together.

 

Now that is awesome.

It's so much fun . I'm going through withdrawals right now. Gotta wait till Monday to even get my truck back, and then gotta take it easy for a couple hundred miles :/. Guess I'm driving around for a couple hours on Monday

 

I thought you didnt care if youre truck broke cause you would borrow the wifes car...

 

That's true as well! Or I can ride my ZX10R if its not to cold out or if the wife is using her car. Also helps when the truck just won't cut my speed demon out! Gotta love when sports cars try to race me on a bike!

I also meant if the beater breaks. I take pretty good care of my truck and can fix most things on it short of an exploded engine. But i don't want to pick up a car I have no idea about and can't work on if there's something wrong.

My beater has a heater.

 

So, picked the truck up today. Stalled it 3 times just trying to get out of the parking lot. Finally figured out the clutch engagement is about instant and if I want any slip whatsoever I have to baaaaaarely move my foot lol. After I figured that out it was pretty fun! Definitely feels a little peppier with the new flywheel, or maybe I've just gotten used to being easy on it that I forgot what it feels like. Boosted a little in 6th on the way to work, but no crazy gear changes. Figure I'll grandma drive it for the next month or so and then have some fun.

 

Make sure to check the clutch pedal travel, before it starts engaging the piston underneath the pedal. You want just a little air gap between the pedal and the piston, in their resting positions.

 

Yea theres like 2" of free play in the clutch pedal before it feels like anything is engaging anything. It feels super loose. But then again, the entire clutch pedal pushes in by pretty much putting my foot on to it, theres almost no force reqired from all the way out to pedal to the floor. Still learning the engagement zone but it feels like theres only about 1/2" from clutch off to clutch engaged
