Did this a few months ago. The speakers, minus,the tweeters were upgraded along with it.



After yesterday's turbo install, I was anxious to test its response. Now, I have yet to install the injectors and ProEFI, but the throttle response is already more noticeable than before with the other engine. To animate this engine, this 4.17 liter, it is like a leashed wolf. Straining and yanking against its reatraints. Feverish for the food, in front of its anxious mouth.

Coming to atmosphere on the gauge takes less throttle input, as it should, and it really begs to be pushed further! Pure raw desire for more air and fuel. This will be very exciting to release its shackles!

Swapped out the stock injectos for the ID1300's, ProEFI, and installed the Motorad 160* thermostat last night.

Definitely needs a comb through the tune in the cruising loads.

The good points are that it runs GREAT in boost, and now it didn't get past 193* during three back to back pulls. Whereas yesterday with the URD 170* t-stat, cruising on the way home @ 70mph, it was steady at 202. Without boost.

This morning on the way in, coolant was at a steady 175*. The test will be on the way home during the heat of the day, this afternoon.

Here is the Motorad t-stat.

With the URD t-stat adapter, it fit right in place of the URD supplied t-stat.

 

Let me do some changes to the tune and I promise.

I'll do what I can to iron things out a bit. It'll need to have an update regardless of my ability, when I up the boost though. Only on the ~8psi spring in it right now.

The problem with the tune is that the old engine had a boost only gasket leak. Unknowingly. Kozmic worked very hard to make it run smoothly with a problem, and they did a fantastic job to be honest. However, this engine has no such problem.

 

hah, that's the exact head unit I just installed in the Fiero. decided that I needed something with Bluetooth, driving a stick.

 

Simple, non flashy, Bluetooth, and a quality feel to the buttons. Bluetooth was the primary feature of necessity just like yours.

 

simple for sure. broke a plastic dash clip, so a dremel cut sheet of aluminum will have to do in the mean time. ugly but functional.
