have anyone of your guys have thought of running e85? you can raise the boost and adv the timing. but you need bigger injectors and most likely a single walbo 255 or a dual 255, and changed your fuel lines, but you go threw a lot more gas and e85 doesnt like to start when it is cold. when i had my built evo with a 35r on e85. it made some mean power at 37 psi.

As a matter of fact yes. Quite a few in the Xrunner community do, of have swappable tunes to. Not many people that have turbos on Tacomas though. Yet...

Toon714 is planning on it. Still has to get the flex fuel sensor for his Pro48, so that he can. He already has Injector Dynamics I.D.1000's, my old ones, but he doesn't want to push any more than his 8 psi since he is already at 400whp and 450 wtq on the stock block.

There is a guy who goes by Xroller who recently got his rearmount turbo setup tuned properly, but only at 7 psi. He is planning on re-tuning on E85 once he gets his new Injector Dynamics. His block is built, so it is just a matter of time for him to get those injectors and tuned.

I am running the Aeromotive Stealth.

Have a larger fuel rail in waiting for future fuel requirements...

    IMAG0278_31726a58734279efac7af4626ca5a3316e4b76d0.jpg

That fuel rail is -8AN in and out. WOOT. So it has tons of extra capacity over the OEM one, for the soon to be added fuel requirements.

Once my Fuel Lab FPR gets in and I can install it, then I will be able to take some measurements of the length of fuel line I need.

I am planning on doing what you are talking about though, as well. It will just be a few more months down the line. I still have to order the flex fuel sensor as well for my Pro128. I would rather have that then have different tunes. Feel safer with it, versus having separate tunes. Plus it is a very nice conveniece factor. Lol. And still need to grab a new set of ID's. 2000's this time around. Won't have to worry about getting close to the max IDC, even with E85, on those injectors. Ha.

So at 37 psi, you had to be in the 700 range. Correct? Pure menace Evo right there. ;)

Going to skip ahead to last week. 10-13-12

Here is the latest from Darton East. My built engine with torque plates on it, and sleeves installed. Waiting to be bored & honed. :D

Also, here is the current state of my used engine.....
All torn apart. Sent out the crank to be turned on a journal that had rod knock. Figure I should clean things up a bit before it comes back.

well that is sick that some people run e85, have you guys thought to run a stand alone. at first i ran my stock ecu, but i had to take my labtop with me because i had 5 tunes on my computer so i would just changed tunes when i needed too. then i went to the aem ems stand alone. it made my life great when i was running speed density. lol but the id 2000 hands down are the best injectors ever. i ran thous in my evo.

well no it wasnt at 700. it was at 694 on the mustang dyno. aka the heart breaker dyno. if i put it on a dyno jet it would for sure be high 700. she was a lot of fun. i miss it. but i am going hopefully going to build another next year. i put the graph for you to see.

Yes sir. My self and Toon are the first two people to run the ProEFI (www.proefi.com) standalones on the Tacomas.

The other guy I mentioned, Xroller, is running a plug n play AEM standalone from Dezod. http://www.dezod.com/pd_dezod_motorsports_aem_ems_standalone.cfm

Your car reminds me of Gate311 Evo X.

    IMAG0722_c4a75b9d6d10a1f67ed4727e14b8e78ab147078c.jpg

And yeah, 694 on a Mustang is good enough for 700 whp. ;)

I actually took a few ques from Ryan Gates when I got to talk with him at The Texas Mile, last March.

I tell you what though, that is a hell of a curve right there. Makes me wonder how many passengers you had, that pinched a hole in the seat when there butt puckered from the power? Lol

yea if you guys are running the ProEFI or the aem. you guys should be good, you guys can get your tune more spot on. but when you were at the texas mile. was ryan gates in his blue and white evo x or was it all blue?
that curve is turbo lag. lol but when it hit it was nasty.. the best was taking girls on a ride and see there faces. lol

^ This thread is pure awesome. All those motor shots are bringing me back to the garage days of seeing my dads track evo go back together after a full JRZ setup, 2.3 stroker with FP black turbo and dry sump setup. < Oil pressure finally holds 80+ in corners! We run e85 as well and love the benefits.

Keep up the good work Torspd! Hats off to ya.

Since evo's were mentioned above, I'll play :) Picture of me working on the track car between sessions. Intercooler pipe connection failure...

It was his all blue one. Sick ass car. Let me get in the driver's seat too, which was really freaking cool. He is a good man. Informative, friendly, and non boastful. I have some specs on his blue car as well, but would have to look them back up. I do know that he was running a custom Precision Turbo. Said it responded like a GT35, but had the power of s GT40. And it revved to a ridiculously high rpm. I have a feeling that he or some other AMS people will be there this weekend as well. So i will try to snag some more pics. :D

Why do I get the feeling that that isn't the occasional Track Dayz car? ;)

I have had a few instances where I had a charge pipe blow out from a hose. Initial feeling is "Holy Shit! What just happened?! Systems check....only no boost....Phew!"

And speaking of oil pressure, there is a shallow oil pan which comes on the XRunner, and some PreRunners. That one has a strong potential to allow a drop in oil pressure as well. Not sure about the Evo, bit when it does on these engines, well.....it is about it.....

I will have to post up some pictures comparing to two oil pans.

You two guys have any more pics of your Evo's?

That's a damn good looking car too. What year is it? Reason I ask is because clearly the turbo is on the front of yours, while on Gates', it is between the engine and firewall.

I don't know all of the ins and outs of those cars.
