Well idk how much I. Willing to spend Doesn't look like I able to get a bbk just yet so going to upgrade the fluid in hopes of getting a tiny bit better braking feel out of it for now could be a year till the bbk so what do you use personally?

How's th 600 version? Only have the 600 on the canadian AmAzon site but I can always get the 660 shipped up here if it's that much better?

 

I don'tknow the specs off hand. I'd have to look them up.

Found some info on it stating it shouldnt be mixed with other polyglycols. Are regular brake fluids poylglycols?
How does one completely remove old fluid?
Do you use this in your clutch as well, does it share the same reservoir as the brake?
Im unfamiliar with the manuals.

 

Yes, I use it for both the clutch and the brakes. Shared reservoir for the both.

I've used both the 600 and 660 in my CBR's. I'm a believer.

I can't answer your question because I don't know, but what I've done is to completely flush my brake system with the new brake fluid one or twice prior to "permanently" topping off with the new fluid. Gets kind of expensive when using quality brake fluid (or whatever) like Motul, but the practice is worth the piece of mind IMO.

I tapered the inlet some more with a dremel. Then used the bolt to suck it on the rest of the way. Not the prefered method,but worked well and still a press fit.

 

So after reading this earlier today.. I checked my boost gauge on the way home. I saw it flash 6, once, for a quick second.. that's the highest it got. I know I have a couple small exhaust leaks at the welds the shop did around the mufflers, and hopefully taking care of them this weekend. Could either of you fine gentlemen explain this a little more though? looks like I will be trying to troubleshoot this weekend. I'll check to see if there is a leak to the gauge first.

 

I have exhaust leaks as well, gonna get them welded up here pretty soon. I don't think I have an issue with the bypass valve, I see 7.5 at WOT on a cold morning. I'm betting once I get the exhaust welded up I'll see 8

 

@VolcomTacoma , after reading the TRD s/c thread, it seems that yours is inline with everyone elses.

The bypass test is simple. Remove the vacuum hose to the bypass valve. Cap it, and cap the loose vacuum hose. Then test drive. Boost will be instant as nothing will be bypassed. Be prepared.

Well i picked up the taco from the alignment shop. $263 later...... Called them out on the fact that they took my pickup to redline (boost gauge max recall). Needless to say the owner is giving me a free dyno session now.

 

Ouch! Makes you wonder where and how much deceitful hooning around that they were doing....

 

So what does this show? If I'm losing boost or if the bypass isn't working. Wait, just figured it out as I typed it. Ill show 8 psi if the bypass is slipping. Gotcha.
