On mine the shields looked very rusted and worn, so I figured they might be worth replacing... then I tried cutting through them. These things are deceptively thick and strong even with the rust. Yours probably has a lot more life left in it, but I understand the desire to have clean parts.

I used this MC http://www.wilwood.com/MasterCylinders/MasterCylinderList.aspx?group=Tandem Remote Master Cylinder, and have this proportioning valve on the rear line http://www.wilwood.com/MasterCylinders/MasterCylinderProd.aspx?itemno=260-10922.

The adapter was made out of 3/8" thick 5" round aluminum I bought on eBay. The holes to mount to the booster are 35* off the vertical center line (roughly 10 and 4 o'clock) and are 100mm apart center to center, the holes that the studs were pressed in are 1.125" from the center point of the aluminum along the vertical center line of the piece (this depends on your MC). I counter-sunk the stud holes so that the plate would sit flush. The big hole in the middle is snug, but I put silicone around the base of the MC to make sure it maintains vacuum, I also put a thin line of silicone on the plate between it and the booster.

I replaced the push rod in the brake booster with M6x1.0 threaded rod cut down to size with an M6 acorn nut on the end.

So many other variables to consider. I often drive this one route in which it used to be impossible to not fade my brakes unless I was using engine braking, but I have 35" tires on heavy 20" wheel, and the road is a very long, steep, downgrade. Without engine braking I would basically have Flinstones brakes by the bottom of the mountain. The stoptech kit was such an improvement.

Now, I don't know your brake setup, maybe you also have well over 100lbs at each corner, but the point is that your experience may not translate over due to other differences in setup. I doubt either of us make anywhere near the power that TORSPD makes either.

Yeah I've definitely been looking in to a brake upgrade lately. Still on stock brakes but sometimes coming hot off the highway on to a short offramp, I'm stomping the brakes trying to not let ABS kick in or lock up and it feels like I'm gonna blow through a stop sign sometimes. (Have only done it twice and thats when ABS kicked in). I've got the EBC Stage 5 kit sitting in my Amazon cart, just need to buy them already lol

But you obviously don't have good brakes because they didn't cost $$$$
If you are trying to prevent abs from kicking in then you aren't truly working the brakes to the maximum potential..abs kicks in at that limit. Use it, that is the entire purpose...

I had the EBC stage 5 before going with StopTech. It's definitely a good improvement over stock, especially with large tires.
Technically that's not correct. Maximum braking potential is reached just before ABS kicks in. Once ABS kicks in your stopping distance will be increase, but with that being said it's still going to be better than if your brakes locked and you started to skid. That's why some people actually prefer to disable their ABS.

Trust me, I'm using them to the limit, I ride the brake right at the ABS threshold, just because when ABS kicks in that's an extra second or two where I have no brakes basically. I've learned right about where I can hammer down to the point where ABS won't kick in. I'm not saying I'm a professional by any means on the subject, but for MY truck I've learned how to use it :D

Good to know! I've eyeballed the 6 piston kit now, but I'm not quite ready to spend a couple grand on brakes when I'm still on stock brakes and just need a little more stopping power. And Yes, I'm in the process of making an ABS disable switch. That shit has almost caused me to wreck my truck out in the dunes/desert.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Just been following this thread for years, didn't know if you guys had seen this company's products. They make some standalone brake, clutch, throttle pedals with master cylinders. Pretty cool stuff, check it out.
