    Could be plug n play harness for 09+. Or it could be something else I was told just a few hours ago, but have now forgotten. :(

    Lots of money to be made there. Lots. Since Unichip and Toyota won't release or sell their plugs, the market has been stagnating. Most people don't like splicing their harness. So that means people won't buy anything that cannot be turned into plug in play.

    I really hope he finish up making those. Damn Lexus ISF plugs...

    Just received an email from Darton. Pistons fit properly, but ran into a new slight issue. Nothing major though.


    "Deck height and piston/wall clearance is good.* But, the crank counterweights interfered with the piston wrist pin bosses.

    Dustin and I have figured out what and how much material needs to be removed. Basically, .090" needs to be removed from the highest part of the counterweight (12 o'clock position).* I had to order a narrow set of vee blocks to get inbetween the counterweights which will be here Monday.* This sounds worse than it is but is not a problem and in no way interferes with balancing or performance," quote.

    Progress is good.

    I recommended that knife edging the crank and all future cranks would be a good idea to discuss with BC, to prevent this issue in the future.

    Well......I recently had #1 returned. After almost two years at NST. Number two has gone to engine heaven after being devoted to a higher cause. ;) (Darton sleeves). Number three. Alas, has been gone on a journey far too long it feels. Sigh. Number 4 is waiting patiently with its thumb up its ass....

    Almost had the crank and rotating assembly installed on my spare block. As I had just received the new bearing from Toyota, since the last #3 main bearing had a nick in it.

    Well when I went to pull the crank from sitting in the block, to install the new #3 main bearing, the #4 main bearing stayed stuck to the journal of the crank due to the assembly lube. Then it let go as I was moving the crank out of the block. It fell on the ground and then it was damaged....So I had to order another #4 main bearing. :/

    Aside from that, I was still able to finish up some other things.

    Such as picking up my repaired Gen 1 header.

    This is actually the second time that I have had this one repaired. The weld is where the most recent crack was. Thank you SIK X. The first time it was repaired, it was because the #6 cylinder's primary was cracked all the way around. That would be the cylinder closest to the fire-wall on the driver side.


    This timing cover came with the first engine that I built. But it had the oil pump cover broken in transportation. So I just recently ordered a new cover to install, as well as cleaned off the old silicone around the edges. So that it may be ready for final assembly.

    This timing cover is clearly not as nasty as the one that came with this spare engine. That made it the obvious choice to install.

    Along with that, a new lower oil pan. The other one was far to filthy with caked on oil as well, and timing metal shavings from the spun bearing. That was just best to throw away.

    I picked this up from Coupe, at the last TEXFEST, in November. I don't think I ever posted a picture of it before though. It looks stellar.

    And lastly, my new Hella Horns. Installed and wired up. WOOT. Had them since Christmas and just finally got around to wiring them up.

    How do the hellas sound? I bought my Tacoma with some already installed, and while they are kind of loud, they sound like they belong on a mini van or economy car or something...

    They sound pretty good to me. Different than the factory ones. But it has been so long that I have heard the factory ones, I really don't remember how those sound. Lol

    For these however, it was more of an aesthetic balance. Ever since I installed the intercooler, the factory ones were in two different locations and were really out of place. I just didn't like that. So now, I have these Hellas installed on either side of the aluminum bumper. Pretty much out of sight if looking for them. But they are symmetrical with a tad more kick.
