Mark, do you know of any intakes that don't require the large intake box in the fender well? My shock towers are going to come through the fenderwell and the flex hose looks like it might be in the way.

 

I switched to the URD intake for this exact reason

 

You can easily make your own as well, they even make pre fab MAF sensor sections etc so all you need is that, some stainless pipe, some silicone couplers, cone filter etc and bam full DIY intake. I've got mine all planned out for when I finish up my shock tower cross brace...will look a lot like the K&N set up but shorter.

 

That's probably what I'll go with, or build something similar.

If you want to share your parts list I wouldn't mind.

I actually would not recommend the URD one for an actual offroad rig it is way too exposed even with that cover they make for it IMO. @VolcomTacoma especially for you guys that run in the sand like Pismo it just seems like you would cake that filter in a matter of minutes.

Untrue man. I always check mine and shake it out and don't get as much sand as you'd think. I also ran the filter cover prefilter thing they have off and on, but it felt like the truck was getting hotter with it on. If I was chasing people in the desert alot, with way more kicked up dust, then yeah I'd be finding a different intake. But I mean, you're getting the same shit sucked in from the fender well, so its really not that different.

Thank you randd! I've been doing my fair share of praying as well.

My street is flooded just past the sidewalk. Currently doing well, as of 30 minutes ago. Pending the Addicks reservoir funneling off water quickly enough, in to Buffalo Bayou, there is a slight chance that it won't raise much further. As long as the rain can stay as is or lessen, and water from the 290&Barker area can stop rising, then the possibility only a foot of water in the house exists.

In the Cypress area where I currently am, there is less desparation. People are moving about, and an off road atv shop has turned into a staging area HQ for rescues of the surrounding area.

 

I have one sitting her for sale... lol It wouldn't fit with the URD SC intake system and my cage.

 

hopefully it stays down. It would be a real shame to loose all the blood, sweat and tears that have gotten you to where you are.

I am one of the few fortunate. Blessed and thankful. Not at the expense of the hundreds of thousands that aren't as such.
