    Something I haven't seen or maybe just missed in this thread or your XRU thread, but what are you doing as far as head work for your built engine;

    Is it complete with new valves (Oversized? Stock?), springs, guides, etc...

    Or are you just running double-springs with Titanium retainers (I know I read this somewhere that you were running this setup)?

    It has the same size, but aftermarket valves. Then also with the dual valve springs and Ti retainers. Just as you said. So the valve train will be able to handle plenty of additional RPM, if I so choose. But I don't plan on running past 6200 RPMs. Just isn't necessary with the gearing of my transmission and final drive.

    Speaking of, I had thought that my gears were a specific set, but wasn't sure. Until I found a speed/gear ratio calculator.

    Now I know exactly which gears my transmission has, based off of the speeds at which I had to shift. I will post those up a little later. Until then, the newest additions.

    Hey man, I know this was a while back, but do you have any tips on how you did this? I just took my truck in for an alignment and they said one of my camber bolts was seized on. I rather not have a shop try to fix it for me.

    Yes actually. They need to trim some more off of the counterweights, and check clearances again. Then balance the rotating assembly. Finish the girdle once that is complete. As well as ship the cams out. I suspect another two months.

    Sorry for the late response. Basically, a lot of WD40 and PB Blast. A large C-clamp. Over sized sockets and washers, and then an extension that reached through the rear camber bolt hole to the front seized camber bolt. Repeated pounding, pressing, and occasional attemps to twist. With spraying in between. It finally popped loose.

    Then once I had it out, I sanded it clean, and greased it up thoroughly before re-installing.

    Curious now what all of the auto gears are? I'd like to punch them in and see what 5th gear's limit is.

    Have you had the opportunity to drive around on your T56 yet? I just noticed that your 1st gear went from a 4.171 to a 2.98. How different does taking off from a stop feel now, like during daily diving?

    Yes actually. I installed it after the spare engine went it. But prior to it having the rod knock problem.

    I cannot not honestly describe how much smoother the shifting is compared to before. It is something that has to be driven to truly feel the difference.

    Taking off is very easy. Probably due to the fact that my truck weighs just 3700 lbs. If I ever did change the final drive, I would most likely go to a 3.90 out of an FJ.

    Also.....

    Picked these up from Coupe yesterday. The one on top is the original mild steel flange, which was used as a template for the new 321 stainless steel flanges.

    That is right. 321 stainless steel.

    Had to make a minimum of 5 sets to get the order done. So I have spares up for grabs.

    These are designed to fit a 1 3/4" tubing for the primaries.

    I can't wait to use them on my build, that is for sure!

    This. They're flanges for building headers/exhaust manifolds (the part that bolts onto the engine block) :cool:

    What Millertime said is accurate. These can be used to make whichever style header you want. Mine will obviously be turbo style headers.

    Yup. You can actually purchase similar flanges from JBA or Doug Thorley. However, those will be made out of mild steel. These 321 flanges weren't cheap. To get my money back I have these for sale for $250 a pair. The Mild steel equivalents for our engine, through PowerFab, are about $75 a pair. Did some quick digging last night, and even what I am selling my extras for is still really cheap comparatively.

    You know me, always the innovator, and always like to do things a little different than everyone else. ;) I will be working hands on with Alex when that time comes. Just like I did with my current kit. All 321 stainless primaries as well. A little heavier, a lot stronger, and a little more expensive than 304 SS. Much more durable though.
