So what all is needed to get it up and running? Just going to put around NA on this motor?

 

Ordered a few fittings yesterday, after I had the chance to measure the diameter and pitch. One of those fittings is necessary to get it running. If replaces the micky mouse fitting that APR supplied with their T56 adapter kit.

Since the new throwout bearing has -3AN stainless braided clutch line, I needed an adapter to get it to the Toyota line. So after a little research last night, I was able to find a way to bypass that annoying hard line loop which routes over the driver side valve cover. That necessary fitting will be here Tuesday, and that is needed to get me running. Even if N/A.

I also figured out how to route a stainless braided line straight from the closest point near the master cylinder.

Unfortunately, my valved quick disconnects won't be here until Friday because they were on a backorder. Those will make life very easy.

 

Let me spill the beans. If you pay attention to the flywheel and underside of clutch/pressure plate combo, then it will present itself that the flywheel will never wear out. As there is no clutch disk material that will ever touch it.

Basically there is an adapter plate, which bolts to the flywheel, that acts like the flywheel. It was a necessary part of the setup to be able to make their twin disks work with our truck.

Pretty ingenious. Plus, I don't have to align anything, as it already is aligned. Just bolt it up to flywheel and go. Pretty freaking sweet if you ask me .

 

i wasnt sure if that bolted to the flywheel or if it was the no friction disc that goes between the two friction discs

 

Tor, if I ever won the lottery, I would hire you as my mechanic and we would open up a speed shop for Tacomas

To wet today to be able to finish the install. What I have left to do is to take a few measurements. From the inside of the bell housing to the fingers on the clutch, and from the base of the transmission where the TOB bolts to the face of the throw out bearing and subtract the two. That way I can get the measurements of clearance that I need to set up the throw out bearing because it is an adjustable throw out bearing. Monday...

Shame it has to be hidden, but it'll be nice driving with it. I love my twin disk on my f250.

 

If there is ever a vote for THE best damn build known to the world of tacomas.....you sir have mine!! there arent words to describe this build other than the sound of pure sex that emanates from your truck in that last video you posted during start up!! Ive spent the last 2 and a half years looking for what I wanna do performance wise on my truck and you have shown me the light, giving me all the inspiration I need!

Like many others have said already, this is like reading a novel/watching an action thriller movie with the ups and downs and unexpected turns. I envy your experience and knowledge after everything youve been through. I hope to be there someday as well oh and I must ask, since im not sure I read it anywhere over the last 40 pages !! What the hell do you do for a living? Aside from your taco
